GABA bioproduction by budding yeasts has been commonly reported, but related studies using non-conventional yeasts remain limited. In this study, two non-conventional natural yeast strains, namely, JMY140K and JMY075, were identified as promising GABA producers, and JMY075 was discovered to be a GABA producer.

Introduction: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is characterized by fever, fatigue, dry cough, dyspnea, mild pneumonia and acute lung injury (ALI), which can lead to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and SARS-CoV-2 can accelerate tumor progression. However, the molecular mechanism for the increased mortality in cancer patients infected with COVID-19 is unclear.
Methods: Colony formation and wound healing assays were performed on Huh-7 cells cocultured with syncytia.
Objective: To explore the association between oxidative balance score (OBS) and osteoporosis risk, as well as to identify the specific population group.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we included the data of 5,413 participants using the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey of 2013-2014 and 2017-2018. Restricted cubic spline (RCS) curves, logistic regression models, trend tests, and stratification analyses were used to evaluate the association between the OBS and osteoporosis risk.

Radiative cooling, a passive cooling technology, functions by reflecting the majority of solar radiation (within the solar spectrum of 0.3-2.5 μm) and emitting thermal radiation (within the atmospheric windows of 8-13 μm and 16-20 μm).

However, the regulatory relationship between H3K4me3 modification and anti-tumor immunity has not been fully elucidated. We identified 72 independent prognostic genes of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) whose transcriptional expression were closely correlated with known 27 H3K4me3 regulators.

However, the attainment of high-performance photodetection has been impeded by challenges pertaining to electrical contact. To surmount this obstacle, we introduce a phototransistor architecture, in which the WS channel is connected with an alternating WS-WSe strip superstructure, strategically positioned alongside the source and drain contact regions.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the mechanisms of daphnetin to reduce H.
Numerous studies have focused on the effect and mechanism of plastic degradation; due to their high persistence, petroleum-based plastics are difficult for microbes to mineralize. Although such plastics have been demonstrated to be mineralized by white rot fungus, the reactions at the molecular level remain unknown. Here, we show the whole mineralization model of polyethylene film, that can be summarized as follows: 1) white rot fungus colonizes on polyethylene film, using additives as dissimilated carbon sources; 2) the fungus secretes extracellular enzymes protein, combining with stearic acid as electron donor, causes oxidation and cracking of polyethylene film; and 3) partial dissociated sub-microplastic debris access to cells, further oxidizes in sequential actions of intracellular enzymes, and ultimately mineralize via β-oxidation.

This study aimed to assess the preferences of patients and healthcare professionals (HCPs) for attributes of CPF-related procedures/surgeries to better inform CPF management.
Methods: This US cross-sectional, observational study was conducted via a web-enabled questionnaire (October 2021-January 2022) among patients aged 21-89 years with a self-reported physician diagnosis of CPF (with or without CPF-related surgery experience) and HCPs (gastroenterologists and colorectal surgeons who managed ≥3 patients with CPF in the past 12 months).
Chromothripsis, a hallmark of cancer, is characterized by extensive and localized DNA rearrangements involving one or a few chromosomes. However, its genome-wide frequency and characteristics in urothelial carcinoma (UC) remain largely unknown. Here, by analyzing single-regional and multi-regional whole-genome sequencing (WGS), we present the chromothripsis blueprint in 488 UC patients.

However, the mechanism responsible for the beneficial effects remains unclear. Recently, extensive studies have demonstrated a close relationship between elevated fasting triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and the risk of AMI.

Amphiphilic copolymers are composed of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic chains, which can self-assemble into polymeric micelles in aqueous solution via the hydrophilic/hydrophobic interactions. Due to their unique properties, polymeric micelles have been widely used as drug carriers. Poorly soluble drugs can be covalently attached to polymer chains or non-covalently incorporated in the micelles, with improved pharmacokinetic profiles and enhanced efficacy.

However, these normative databases are specifically designed for generating study stimuli in learning and memory research involving native (or fluent) English speakers. Consequently, they are not suitable for investigations that encompass populations whose first language is not English, such as Chinese individuals.

Our study aims to elucidate the relationship between cognitive frailty and the risk of incident depression.
Methods: Utilizing data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) spanning 2011, 2013, and 2015, subjects were classified according to cognitive frailty criteria established by an international consensus panel.

Objective: To analyze the genes related to platelet activation in essential thrombocythemia (ET) based on transcriptome sequencing technology (RNA-seq), and to explore the potential targets related to ET thrombosis.
Methods: Blood samples from ET patients and healthy individuals were collected for RNA-seq, and differentially expressed lncRNAs, miRNAs, and mRNAs were selected to construct a lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA regulatory network. Differential mRNAs in the regulatory network were enriched and analyzed using Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG).
Understanding the comprehensive impacts of environmental factors on soil organic carbon (SOC) and soil inorganic carbon (SIC) in different land use types is of great significance for sustainable soil management. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) and structural equation modelling were applied to reveal the driving mechanism of SOC, SIC and the ratio between SOC to SIC (SOC/SIC) in three major land use types (forest, grassland and farmland) in a forest-grassland ecotone (FGE) of Inner Mongolia, Northeast China. Mean annual temperature (MAT), mean annual temperature (MAP) and Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) were selected by LASSO as the three most important environmental factors affecting SOC, SIC and SOC/SIC in all land use types.

Materials And Methods: Newly differentiated human and mouse (3T3-L1) adipocytes and primary mouse adipocytes were treated with vitamin D covalently linked to green fluorescent BODIPY (VitD-B) or Green BODIPY (GB) as control.
The down-regulation of p21 after long-term CDK4/6 inhibition represents a key mechanism causing resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitors in some tumor cells, while the HDAC inhibitor could upregulate the level of p21. Herein, a series of novel CDK4/6 and HDAC dual-targeting inhibitors based on the moiety of palbociclib were designed and synthesized. Among them, compound N14 potently inhibited CDK4/6 and HDAC1/6 at nanomolar levels and induced cell apoptosis and G/G phase arrest through HDAC-p21-CDK signaling pathway in HuH-7 cell line.
