Objective: To observe the clinical therapeutic effects of electro-acupuncture in the treatment of cervical spondylopathy of the vertebroarterial type.
Methods: According to the consulting order, the patients were randomly divided into a treatment group (29 cases treated with electro-acupuncture), and a control group (28 cases treated with simple acupuncture). 20 treatments were given to patients in both groups.
Water deficit caused by addition of polyethylene glycol 6000 at -0.5 MPa water potential to well-aerated nutrient solution for 48 h inhibited the elongation of maize (Zea mays) seedling primary roots. Segmental growth rates in the root elongation zone were maintained 0 to 3 mm behind the tip, but in comparison with well-watered control roots, progressive growth inhibition was initiated by water deficit as expanding cells crossed the region 3 to 9 mm behind the tip.

In the present study, we have used pathogenic fungi Verticillium dahliae and Arabidopsis plants as a model system of plant-microb interaction to demonstrate the function of endogenous cAMP in Arabidopsis defense responses. Proton flux along the root elongation zone was assayed by high resolution analyses of images of acid diffusion around roots contacted for 5 min with pH indicator gel.

As a new array processing technique, independent component analysis(ICA) is an effective means to resolve the blind source separation(BSS) problem. Based on the brief introductions of ICA theory and algorithm, we apply ICA to the removal of ocular artifacts from EEG recordings. The EEG data collected from the human scalp is actually the mixtures of some independent components.

In this paper an approach of time-window complexity sequence is applied to sleep EEG analysis. This approach can reduce the loss of state information due to the nonstationarity of EEG signal and the unevenness of state space, and can overcome certain limitations of the complexity itself to some extent. It will help to extract the state features of EEG in different sleep stages.

Objective: To observe the effect of Xuesaitong (XST) soft capsule in treating postpartum hemorrhage.
Methods: Sixty pregnant women were randomly divided into the treated group (A) and the control group (B), 30 cases in each, they were treated with XST and placebo respectively for 7 days to observe the changes of hemorrhagic conditions.
Results: After delivery, the hemoglobin, RBC count, hematocrit and cardiac index were lower at 3rd day than those before delivery in both groups (P < 0.
