Background: Transcranial static magnetic stimulation (tSMS) as a new noninvasive brain stimulation (NIBS) technique is gradually gaining widespread attention. This study aims to investigate the effects of tSMS on the excitability of the somatosensory cortex in healthy adults.
Methods: Forty healthy volunteers were recruited and randomly assigned to either the intervention group (tSMS) or the control group (sham), with 20 participants in each.
This work reports a hierarchically structured micromotor (HSM) surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) platform comprising 3D tubular configurations with nanostructured outer walls. The HSMs can be powered by an external magnetic field in solution to enrich molecules with promoted adsorption efficiency. The nanostructured outer wall serves as containers to collect molecules and produce strong localized surface plasmon resonance to intensify Raman of the enriched molecules.

Searching for good anchoring materials that can suppress the shuttle effect is critical to large-scale commercialization of lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries. In this work, the adsorption behavior of lithium polysulfides (LiPSs, such as S and LiS, = 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8), the sulfur reduction reaction (SRR), the decomposition processes of LiS and the diffusion behavior of Li atoms on intrinsic and doped 2D biphenylene (BIP) are systematically investigated by employing the first-principles calculation method. Calculations show that the adsorption energies of LiPSs on the electrolyte (DOL and DME) are smaller than those on the intrinsic/B doped BIP.

Wetland plays an important role in stabilizing climate change and makes a significant contribution to global soil carbon storage due to its huge carbon storage capacity. The nanosensors exhibited bright pink fluorescence with AuNCs evenly distributed on MIL-68(In)-NH2. The conformations and redox states of ferricytochrome c, before and after adsorption onto the surface of the indium tin oxide (ITO) nanoparticles, are studied to reveal the interaction nature between the cytochrome c and the conducting metal oxide surface. The characterizations with resonance Raman scattering and UV-Vis absorption reveal that the change of pH at moderate ionic strength induces transitions of conformations and redox-states, which suggests that there is intramolecular electron transfer. The conformations of the cytochrome c species are maintained after adsorption onto or collision with the ITO surface, but the redox states change significantly, and the change depends on the surface structure of the ITO nanoparticle.
