View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjective: We compared the cost of faculty time preparing educational materials for traditional didactic (TD) education provided at local institutions with that of faculty time preparing National Neonatology Curriculum (NNC) flipped classroom (FC) educational materials shared among institutions for fellow education across the United States.
Study Design: Using survey data and the national average for faculty educators' salaries, we calculated the cost of developing TD versus FC materials. Wilcoxon rank-sum test and comparison of two Poisson rates were utilized to evaluate the time to create versus update TD materials and the cost to create new TD versus FC materials, respectively.
Objective: To perform a psychometric evaluation of a Norwegian version of the Berlin Misophonia Questionnaire Revised (BMQ-R-NOR).

Much of the information people encounter in everyday life is not factual; it originates from fictional sources, such as movies, novels, and video games, and from direct experience such as pretense, role-playing, and everyday conversation. Despite the recent increase in research on fiction, there is no theoretical account of how memory of fictional information is related to other types of memory or of which mechanisms allow people to separate fact and fiction in memory. We present a theoretical framework that places memory of fiction in relation to other cognitive phenomena as a distinct construct and argue that it is an essential component for any general theory of human memory.

It is long-established that innervation-dependent production of neurotrophic factors is required for blastema formation and epimorphic regeneration of appendages in fish and amphibians. The regenerating mouse digit tip and the human fingertip are mammalian models for epimorphic regeneration, and limb denervation in mice inhibits this response. A complicating issue of limb denervation studies in terrestrial vertebrates is that the experimental models also cause severe paralysis therefore impairing appendage use and diminishing mechanical loading of the denervated tissues.

BMP9 induces a battery of chondrogenic genes in vivo, and a similar response is observed in cultures of amputation wound cells. Extended cultures of BMP9-treated cells results in differentiation of hyaline cartilage, and single cell RNAseq analysis identified wound fibroblasts as BMP9 responsive.
