Background: Maternal infections caused by the ToRCH complex, comprising Toxoplasma gondii (T.gondii), Rubella Virus (RV), Cytomegalovirus (CMV), and Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV), are significant contributors to Bad Obstetric History (BOH). These infections can vertically transmit through the placental barrier, leading to complications in fetal development.

However, limited information is available on the host preferences of in Pakistan. Therefore, we aimed to explore the feeding behavior of , a malaria vector, in the District Khyber, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

Their structures and configurations were elucidated by means of spectrometric and the modified Mosher's method. Among the new compounds, compounds 1 and 2 were identified as ethyl 3, 6-anhydro-2-deoxy-β-D-arabino-hexofuranoside (1) and ethyl 3, 6-anhydro-2-deoxy- hexofuranoside (2).

Despite development of many tools, use of 2-DE coupled with MS in proteomics is not uncommon. With an accelerated trend of genome sequencing of microorganisms, proteome analysis of animal pathogens with 2-DE has gained more attention in the last decade.

Concordance for schizophrenia is high in monozygotic twins but the extent to which concordance varies according to the presence of other schizophrenia risk factors is not well established. We aimed to investigate this in systematically ascertained twin samples. DSM-III-R/DSM-IV diagnoses were made from original data or published case histories from four systematically ascertained monozygotic twin samples.

The structures of and were determined by various spectroscopic techniques and were assayed for their antibacterial and leishmanicidal potential. Compound showed 75% inhibition after 24 h of incubation and 98% inhibition after 48 h of incubation against KWH23 promastigotes at 100 μg/mL concentration, while compound exhibited 73% and 96% inhibition at the same concentration and incubation time.

Background: Aggressive, agitated or violent behaviour due to psychosis constitutes an emergency psychiatric treatment where fast-acting interventions are required. Risperidone is a widely accessible antipsychotic that can be used to manage psychosis-induced aggression or agitation.
Objectives: To examine whether oral risperidone alone is an effective treatment for psychosis-induced aggression or agitation.
Background: Both hepatitis B and C are common infections affecting masses and are leading causes of Chronic Liver Disease in Pakistan as well as worldwide. In majority of cases both viral diseases spread by factors that are preventable. The present study is conducted to determine the identifiable risk factors in patients admitted with Chronic Hepatitis B and C.

A fast, simple, and a reliable high-performance liquid chromatography linked with electrochemical detector (HPLC-ECD) method for the assessment of lipoic acid (LA) and dihydrolipoic acid (DHLA) in plasma was developed using naproxen sodium as an internal standard (IS) and validated according to standard guidelines. Extraction of both analytes and IS from plasma (250 μl) was carried out with a single step liquid-liquid extraction applying dichloromethane. The separated organic layer was dried under stream of nitrogen at 40°C and the residue was reconstituted with the mobile phase.

Technetium-99m-Sn-phosphate colloid was prepared in the presence of polyvinylpyrollidone(PVP), molecular weight 44,000, for bone marrow imaging. Size of the colloidal particles, as determined by coulter counter, microphotographic and electron microscopic studies was 15-35 nm. The colloid preparation was checked for the presence of any soluble components by Sephadex G-25 chromatography.
