In this work, a novel series of N-(arylcarbamothioyl)arylmide) 2-11 were synthesized by treating One-Pot three-multicomponent of Aroyl chloride, ammonium isothiocyanate and amine compounds under refluxing conditions. Using spectroscopic methods, the chemical structure of the novelty developed compounds were investigated. After five days, the proposed derivatives' insecticidal bioassay was assessed using the median lethal concentration (LC) against the second & fourth larvae of Spodoptera frugiperda as toxicity agents.

Purpose: We aimed to compare the impact of urethral transection after different techniques of bulbar urethroplasty on erectile function outcome.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the records for 245 patients who underwent different urethroplasty techniques for bulbar urethral stricture between February 2013 and January 2021. The comparison between the transecting and non-transecting cohorts included patients' demographics, clinicopathological features of the urethral stricture, post-urethroplasty erectile function, and success of urethroplasty.

The purpose of this report is to provide a comprehensive account of an exceptional case involving the presentation of congenital rubella syndrome (CRS) in a newborn. Furthermore, it aims to document the successful regression of CRS through medical treatment alone. We present the case of a five-day-old infant who was referred to our facility as a CRS case.

Left ventricular hypertrophy is a common entity with a broad differential diagnosis. We present a case of a middle-aged woman with left ventricular hypertrophy and neuropathy caused by a rare transthyretin variant in the absence of a family history or regional reports of hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis. This report outlines the diagnosis and management of patients with a mixed phenotype of hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis and enriches clinical data supporting the pathogenicity of a rare variant of transthyretin.

This study investigated the relationship between fear of COVID-19, previous exposure to COVID-19, perceived vulnerability to disease, sleep quality, and psychological distress among healthcare workers (HCWs) in Taif city in Saudi Arabia, which has a population of 702,000 people. A cross-sectional study design was adopted. HCWs ( = 202) completed a survey containing the Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S), Perceived Vulnerability to Disease (PVD), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21).

(1) Background: Inappropriate use of antimicrobials and subsequently rise of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) remains a major public health priority. Over-prescribing of broad-spectrum antibiotics is one of the main contributing factors for the emergence of AMR. We sought to describe antimicrobial prescribing trends among patients in public hospitals in Makkah hospitals.

Background: Deregulated microRNAs (miRs) significantly impact cancer development and progression. Our in silico analysis revealed that miR-497 and its target gene B-cell lymphoma-2 (BCL2) could be related to poor cancer outcomes.

Purpose: To investigate the BCL2/miRNA-497 expression ratio in colorectal cancer (CRC) and explore its association with the clinicopathological characteristics and CRC prognosis.

Objective: The study aimed to document the quality of work life (QWL) among healthcare staff of intensive care units (ICUs) and emergency units during COVID-19 outbreak using the WHOQoL-BREF.

Methods: A multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted for two months (May - June 2020) among healthcare staff working in intensive care units (ICUs) and emergency units of the hospitals under the National Guard Health Authority (NGHA) across five cities of Saudi Arabia. The study used the WHOQoL-BREF instrument to document the QWL through an electronic institutional survey.

Background: Penetrating abdominal trauma (PAT) poses a significant challenge to trauma surgeons. Laparotomy is still the most popular procedure for managing PAT but has high morbidity and mortality rates. Presently, laparoscopy aims to provide equal or superior visualization compared to open approaches but with less morbidity, postoperative discomfort, and recovery time.

Background: Anastomotic leaks (AL) are among the most serious complications due to the substantial impact on the quality of life and mortality. Inspite of the advance in diagnostic tools such as laboratory tests and radiological adjuncts, only moderate improvement has been recorded in the rate of detected leaks. The purpose of the research was to assess the perioperative risk factors for AL.

has remained the main etiological agent of candidiasis, challenges clinicians with high mortality and morbidity. The emergence of resistance to antifungal drugs, toxicity and lower efficacy have all contributed to an urgent need to develop alternative drugs aiming at novel targets in . Targeting the production of virulence factors, which are essential processes for infectious agents, represents an attractive substitute for the development of newer anti-infectives.

Introduction: The prevalence of waterpipe smoking is increasing globally. The involvement of waterpipe smoking as an independent risk factor for the development of myocardial infarction is an area in need of further research. Our study examines the possible relationship between waterpipe smoking and myocardial infarction.

Background: CaM (calmodulin) mutations are associated with congenital arrhythmia susceptibility (calmodulinopathy) and are most often de novo. In this report, we sought to broaden the genotype-phenotype spectrum of calmodulinopathies with 2 novel calmodulin mutations and to investigate mosaicism in 2 affected families.

Methods: CaM mutations were identified in 4 independent cases by DNA sequencing.

Aims: Calmodulinopathies are rare life-threatening arrhythmia syndromes which affect mostly young individuals and are, caused by mutations in any of the three genes (CALM 1-3) that encode identical calmodulin proteins. We established the International Calmodulinopathy Registry (ICalmR) to understand the natural history, clinical features, and response to therapy of patients with a CALM-mediated arrhythmia syndrome.

Methods And Results: A dedicated Case Report File was created to collect demographic, clinical, and genetic information.

Background: Prior acute coronary syndrome (ACS) registries in Saudi Arabia might not have accurately described the true demographics and cardiac care of patients with ACS. We aimed to evaluate the clinical characteristics, management, and outcomes of a representative sample of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in Saudi Arabia.

Methods: We conducted a 1-month snap-shot, prospective, multi-center registry study in 50 hospitals from various health care sectors in Saudi Arabia.

In recent years, the decreased efficacy of existing antibiotics toward management of emergent drug-resistant strains has necessitated the search for novel antibiotics from natural products. In this regard, sp is well known for producing variety of secondary metabolites of potential use. Therefore, we performed an investigation to isolate and identify sp from oral cavity for production of novel antimicrobial compounds.

Antimicrobial resistance is increasing at an alarming rate in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) owing to the overuse and misuse of antimicrobials. Novel and rare multidrug-resistant strains can spread globally since the region is host to the largest expatriate population in the world as well as a pilgrimage destination for more than 4 million people annually. Adoption of antimicrobial stewardship programmes (ASPs) could improve the use of antimicrobials and reduce antimicrobial resistance in the region.

Objective: Determine first-year clinical outcomes for TAVI at Madinah Cardiac Center (MMC) in Saudi Arabia.

Design: Retrospective, analytical cross-sectional.

Objectives: CD34+ cells and colony forming unit-granulocyte and macrophage (CFU-GM) from human bone marrow were used to investigate the role of Fas/FasL system in the regulation of myelopoiesis.

Methods: Fas and FasL expression in CD34+ cells and in day 14 CFU-GM were measured by RT-PCR and immunofluorescence respectively. The functional assays for the CFU-GM were measured by a standard colony assay and the proliferative capacity of CFU-GM was measured by replating the primary colony and observing the secondary colony formation.
