Background: Obstructive jaundice is a common health challenge in daily clinical practice caused by a heterogeneous group of benign and malignant conditions in or around extrahepatic bile ducts. This study aimed to investigate the causes of obstructive jaundice, analyze the age and sex distribution, and report the locations of obstruction.

Methods: This was a retrospective study of electronic records of patients diagnosed with obstructive jaundice in the Hadhramout region in Yemen.

Introduction: Radiography is a crucial healthcare specialty that requires ongoing research to advance imaging technologies and techniques. Despite this, radiographers are faced with obstacles such as time constraints, lack of resources, and the need for training on new technologies, which can discourage their research involvement. This study aims to provide a more representative understanding of the radiography research culture in Saudi Arabia, building upon previous studies.

Background: Calculating size-specific dose estimates (SSDEs) requires measurement of the patient's anteroposterior (AP) and lateral thickness based on computed tomography (CT) images. However, these measurements can be subject to variation due to inter-observer and intra-observer differences. This study aimed to investigate the impact of these variations on the accuracy of the calculated SSDE.

Establishing local diagnostic reference levels for computed tomography examinations using size-specific dose estimates.

Objectives: To establish local DRL (LDRL) for computed tomography (CT) examinations based on size-specific dose estimates (SSDEs), which consider patient size. The concept of diagnostic reference level (DRL) was introduced to limit patient exposure to unnecessary radiation. However, traditional DRL values do not consider patient size.

Evaluating Sonographers' Awareness of Artifacts in Renal Ultrasound Scans.
