Effect of percutaneous transvenous mitral commissurotomy on brain natriuretic peptide in mitral stenosis in tertiary care hospitals of Peshawar.

The current study was planned to determine the effect of percutaneous transvenous mitral commissurotomy (PTMC) on brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) levels in mitral stenosis patients. It was conducted at the Postgraduate Medical Institute, Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, and Rehman Medical Institute Laboratory, Peshawar, Pakistan, from December 2013 to June 2014. Of the 100 patients, 63(63%) were females.
