We synthesized high-crystalline PtSb nanocrystals (NCs) via a hot-injection method (D0-type tetragonal PtSb, hexagonal PtSb, and cubic PtSb). The PtSb NCs exhibited isotropic microstrains (ε = ε = 0.022, ε = 0.

The oxidation and lattice distortion of spinel oxides used for magnesium-ion battery (MIB) cathodes lead to poor stability and cycling performance. Herein, the highly inverted spinel oxide Mg(Al, Fe, Mn, REE)O of = 0.62 with incorporated rare-earth elements (REE) and decent specific surface area was prepared by utilizing leachate of the pelagic rare-earth-rich clays via a foamed sol-gel/calcination method.

Article Synopsis
  • Researchers created a new clay-based composite that efficiently captures CO2 by combining melamine with attapulgite using a wet impregnation method.
  • The material showed improved stability and capacity for CO2 adsorption (4.91 cm/g) compared to melamine alone (1.30 cm/g), thanks to enhanced active sites on attapulgite exposed through thermal and acidic treatments.
  • After multiple reuse cycles, the composite continued to increase in CO2 adsorption capacity, confirming the strong interaction between melamine and the attapulgite that contributes to its effectiveness and stability.

This paper described a facile and direct electrochemical method for the determination of ultra-trace Cu(2+) by employing amino-functionalized mesoporous silica (NH2-MCM-41) as enhanced sensing platform. NH2-MCM-41 was prepared by using a post-grafting process and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. NH2-MCM-41 modified glassy carbon (GC) electrode showed higher sensitivity for anodic stripping voltammetric (ASV) detection of Cu(2+) than that of MCM-41 modified one.
