Enhancing Psychiatry Education through Podcasting: Learning from the Listener Experience.

Objective: Podcasts have recently been introduced into psychiatry education, despite limited evidence evaluating podcasting in medical education. PsychEd is an educational, publicly available podcast targeting junior learners in psychiatry. This study characterized PsychEd's listeners and the podcast's role in their education.

An emphasis on the current concept of resilience shifts the responsibility for systemic problems to the individual. Examining the history of the term "resilience" reveals its origins in ecological studies and its subsequent mobilization by economic theorists and politics.

Photobleaching kinetics of Verteporfin and Lemuteporfin in cells and optically trapped multilamellar vesicles using two-photon excitation.

Verteporfin and Lemuteporfin are compared to examine the effect of their functional groups and therefore the localization in two-photon excitation (TPE) photodynamic therapy (PDT). We used singlet oxygen-related photobleaching of the sensitizers to assess TPE-induced singlet oxygen generation in multilamellar vesicles (MLVs) and U343 glioma cells under a variety of conditions. It was found that Lemuteporfin photobleached at a faster rate than Verteporfin in the majority of environments.

An integrated information system for all-hazards health preparedness and response: New York State Health Emergency Response Data System.

Effective and timely exchange of information among healthcare, state and local public health, and other health emergency response partners is essential to all-hazards emergency preparedness and response. Since fall of 2001, NY State Department of Health has partnered with the healthcare and public health community in New York to implement a statewide Health Emergency Response Data System to meet this need. During this time, it has been used in a wide range of preparedness and response applications including regional and local exercises, surveillance, health facility asset tracking, and response to actual health events.
