However, effective disinfectants used against PPV are harsh and corrosive to animal health facilities and the environment. We propose a noncorrosive "green" disinfectant that generates peracetic acid and is capable of inactivating PPV completely at a 1% concentration for a 10-minute contact time.

Methods: In this prospective, single-center clinical trial, 60 patients were randomized into 2 groups: control patients (n = 28), who received low doses of prednisone throughout, and study patients (n = 32), who were withdrawn from steroids 7 days posttransplant.
This study evaluates sirolimus in preserving renal function in 28 patients who developed renal insufficiency after liver transplantation. Patients with a creatinine level higher than 1.8 mg/ml were eligible for conversion.
