Objective: While the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have demonstrated a strong commitment to strengthening primary healthcare (PHC), the costs of delivering these services in this region remain relatively unexplored. Understanding the costs of PHC delivery is essential for effective resource allocation and health system efficiency.

Design: We used an ingredient-based method to estimate the cost of delivering a selection of services at PHC facilities in the six GCC countries in 2019.

Perception, confidence, and willingness to respond to in-flight medical emergencies among medical students: a cross sectional study.

Background: In-flight medical emergencies (IMEs) are expected to increase as air travel normalized in the post-COVID-19 era. However, few studies have examined health professions students' preparedness to respond to such emergencies. The dysmorphic facies, renal agenesis, ambiguous genitalia, microcephaly, polydactyly, and lissencephaly (DREAM-PL) syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by dysmorphic facies, renal agenesis, ambiguous genitalia in males, microcephaly, polydactyly, and lissencephaly. The CTU2 gene, which encodes a protein involved in the post-transcriptional modification of tRNAs is the source of the syndrome's mutation. Several developmental abnormalities can result from a disruption of this modification, which is necessary for the proper translation of genes.

Considering the objectives of "One Health" and the Sustainable development Goals "Good health and well-being" for the development of effective strategies to apply against bacterial resistance, food safety dangers, and zoonosis risks, this project explored the isolation and identification of strains from the intestinal tract of recently weaned mice; as well as the assessment of antibacterial activity against clinical and zoonotic pathogens. For molecular identification, 16S rRNA gene-specific primers were used and, via BLAST-NCBI, 16 , one and one strains were identified and registered in GenBank after the confirmation of their identity percentage and the phylogenetic analysis of the 16 strains and their association with . The 18 isolated strains showed antibacterial activity during agar diffusion tests against ATCC 15313, enteropathogenic O103, and ATCC 49943.

Currently, probiotic bacteria with not transferable antibiotic resistance represent a sustainable strategy for the treatment and prevention of enterotoxigenic (ETEC) in farm animals. is among the most versatile species used in the food industry, either as starter cultures or probiotics. In the present work, the immunobiotic potential of CRL681 and CRL1506 was studied to evaluate their capability to improve the resistance to ETEC infection.

Human infection by Enterohemorrhagic (EHEC) constitutes a serious threat to public health and a major concern for the meat industry. Presently, consumers require safer/healthier foods with minimal chemical additives, highlighting the need for sustainable solutions to limit and prevent risks. This work evaluated the ability of two antagonistic lactic acid bacteria (LAB) strains, CRL681 and CRL35, and their combination in order to inhibit EHEC in beef (ground and vacuum sealed meat discs) at 8 °C during 72 h.

Advances on Self-Regulation Models: A New Research Agenda Through the SR vs ER Behavior Theory in Different Psychology Contexts.

The aim of this paper is to demonstrate how Bandura's Social Cognitive Theory (1986) influenced the development of several complementary models of the construct of Self-Regulation. Building on the foundation of Self-Determination Theory, SDT (2000), and Zimmerman's Self-Regulation Theory, SR (2001), with their assumptions, contributions, goddesses, and limitations, we come to the Self- vs. External Regulatory Theory, SR-ER (2021).

Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder: The Results of a Naturalistic Outcomes Study.

Cognitive−behavioral therapy is a well-established treatment for obsessive−compulsive disorder (OCD). There are a variety of cognitive and behavioral strategies, and it is necessary to analyze the outcomes of the treatments. The aim of the present study is to verify the effectiveness of a treatment that combines evidence-based procedures and specific cognitive interventions highlighting the issue of acceptance.

Biotechnological use of dairy by-products for the production and microencapsulation of the food preservative enterocin CRL35.

Bacteriocins from Gram-positive bacteria have been proposed as natural food preservative and there is a need for large-scale production for commercial purposes. The aim of the present work is to evaluate whey, a cheese industrial by-product, for the production and microencapsulation of enterocin CRL35. Whey proved to be a promising basal medium for bacterial growth although the bacteriocin production was quite low.

Circulating miR-146a -5p in Egyptian patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

We indented to evaluate of the role miRNA-146a-5p expression level as a possible biomarker associated with the incidence of rheumatoid arthritis and the detection of its relevance with different disease parameters. The study included 60 clinically diagnosed RA patients fulfilling 2010 American College of Rheumatology / European League Against Rheumatism (ACR/EULAR) classification criteria for Rheumatoid Arthritis and 45 age and sex matched control subjects. Disease activity was assessed by Disease Activity Score 28 (DAS28).

High prevalence of long-term olfactory, gustatory, and chemesthesis dysfunction in post-COVID-19 patients: a matched case-control study with one-year follow-up using a comprehensive psychophysical evaluation.

Background: Using an age and gender matched-pair case-control study, we aimed to estimate the long-term prevalence of psychophysical olfactory, gustatory , and chemesthesis impairment at least one year after SARS-CoV-2 infection considering the background of chemosensory dysfunction in non-COVID-19 population.

Methodology: This case-controlled study included 100 patients who were home-isolated for mildly symptomatic COVID-19 between March and April 2020. One control regularly tested for SARS-CoV-2 infection and always tested negative was matched to each case according to gender and age.

Lactic acid bacteria biofilms and their ability to mitigate Escherichia coli O157:H7 surface colonization.

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) exert antagonistic activities against diverse microorganisms, including pathogens. In this work, we aimed to investigate the ability of LAB strains isolated from food to produce biofilms and to inhibit growth and surface colonization of Enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) O157:H7 at 10°C. The ability of 100 isolated LAB to inhibit EHEC O157:H7 NCTC12900 growth was evaluated in agar diffusion assays.

Cross-Sectional Study of Resilience, Positivity and Coping Strategies as Predictors of Engagement-Burnout in Undergraduate Students: Implications for Prevention and Treatment in Mental Well-Being.

In a population of young adults, this study analyzes possible linear relations of resilience and positivity to coping strategies and engagement-burnout. The aim was to establish a model with linear, associative, and predictive relations, to identify needs and make proposals for therapeutic intervention in different student profiles. A population of 1,126 undergraduate students with different student profiles gave their informed, written consent, and completed validated questionnaires (CD-RISC Scale; Positivity; Coping Strategies of Stress; Engagement, and Burnout).

Self-Regulation and Regulatory Teaching as Determinants of Academic Behavioral Confidence and Procrastination in Undergraduate Students.

The combination of student Self-Regulation (SR) and the context of Regulatory Teaching (RT), each in varying degree, has recently been demonstrated to have effects on achievement emotions, factors and symptoms of stress, and coping strategies. The aim of the present research study is to verify its possible further effects, on academic behavioral confidence and procrastination. A total of 1193 university students completed validated online questionnaires with regard to specific subjects in their degree program.

Hepatitis C-related membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis in the era of direct antiviral agents.

Membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis (MPGN) is the most typical Hepatitis C virus (HCV)-associated glomerulopathy, and the available data about the utilization of direct-acting antivirals (DAA) in HCV-associated glomerulonephritis is inadequate. We evaluated the renal and viral response in two cases of HCV-related MPGN; the first caused by cryoglobulinemia while the second was cryoglobulin-negative. Both patients received immunosuppression besides DAA in different regimens.

An overview on the role of CO laser in general dermatology.

Among different laser types, the carbon dioxide (CO ) laser remains one of the most used by dermatologists. Its usefulness has been demonstrated both for therapeutic and cosmetic purposes. Effects of Levels of Self-Regulation and Regulatory Teaching on Strategies for Coping With Academic Stress in Undergraduate Students.

The predicts that regulation-related factors in the student and in the context combine to determine the student's levels in emotional variables, stress, and coping strategies. The objective of the present research was to test this prediction in the aspect of coping strategies. Our hypothesis posed that students' level of self-regulation (low-medium-high), in combination with the level of regulation promoted in teaching (low-medium-high), would determine the type of strategies students used to cope with academic stress; the interaction of these levels would focus coping strategies either toward emotions or toward the problem.
