Purpose: The aim of this work is to assess cervical length (CL) distribution in a low-risk population in order to evaluate the applicability of a possible universal CL screening in the second trimester, aimed at preventing preterm birth (PTB).
Methods: In a multicentric, prospective cohort study, singleton pregnant women attending second trimester anatomy scan between 18 + 0 to 22 + 6 weeks of gestation were eligible. Teenage pregnancy and women with previous PTB were excluded.
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the correlation of gestational weight gain (GWG) with pregnancy and perinatal outcomes in a cohort of obese women class I-III receiving standard care (SC) or lifestyle intervention (LI).
Methods: This is a prospective cohort study including singleton obese women (body mass index, BMI ≥ 30) who delivered between 2016 and 2020. Women exposed to a LI were referred to an obesity weight management ad hoc clinic.
Objective: To assess adverse obstetric and neonatal outcomes associated with the use of dinoprostone for induction of labor, with particular attention on categories for which caution is recommended by the Italian Medicines Agency and the European Medicine Agency.
Methods: A retrospective multicenter observational study was conducted on a population of 1687 patients undergoing induction of labor with vaginal dinoprostone (gel or insert) between August 2019 and June 2022. Patients were subdivided based on maternal age, gestational age, and obstetric disorders.
Background: Fetal growth restriction is associated with perinatal morbidity and mortality. Early identification of women having at-risk fetuses can reduce perinatal adverse outcomes.
Objectives: To assess the predictive performance of existing models predicting fetal growth restriction and birthweight, and if needed, to develop and validate new multivariable models using individual participant data.
Objective: To predict birth weight at various potential gestational ages of delivery based on data routinely available at the first antenatal visit.
Design: Individual participant data meta-analysis.
Data Sources: Individual participant data of four cohorts (237 228 pregnancies) from the International Prediction of Pregnancy Complications (IPPIC) network dataset.
Background: Pelvic congestion syndrome (PCS) is associated with chronic pelvic pain (CPP). The efficacy of flavonoids for treating PCS symptoms is still a matter of debate, and little has been published. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of a mixture of diosmin, troxerutin, and hesperidin in improving symptoms of patients with PCS, observing a direct effect on circulation by specific color Doppler ultrasonography (CDU) evaluations.

Methods: A narrative review of all the relevant papers known to the authors was conducted.
Background: Breastfeeding can be challenging in neonates born between 34 and 36 weeks gestation (late preterm).
Methods: This prospective cohort study aims to evaluate exclusive breastfeeding at discharge, at three and six months of life in late preterm infants, and to identify facilitators and challenges to it. We included late preterm neonates eligible for the rooming-in.
Purpose: Progestin-only pills (POPs), compared to combined, are not associated with an increased risk of venous thromboembolism, but are associated with a poor cycle control. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of a new POP [4 mg drospirenone (DRSP) for 24 days with a 4-day hormone-free interval] on some coagulation markers (both procoagulant and fibrinolytic) and to describe its impact on bleeding patterns.
Materials And Methods: This is a prospective trial, based on serum evaluation of following coagulation markers and tests: Factor (F) X, F VIII, F V, INR, aPTT, Protein S and antithrombin III.
Introduction: Drospirenone/estetrol (DRSP/E4) is a combined oral contraceptive (COC) recently approved in several countries. It is composed of 15 mg of E4, a natural estrogen produced by human fetal liver throughout pregnancy, and 3 mg of DRSP, the first synthetic progestin used in oral contraception derived from 17-α-spirolactone. E4 and DRSP synergistically prevent pregnancy by inhibiting ovulation.

Objective: The aim of the study was to identify independent risk factors that contribute to stillbirth at 37 weeks' gestation or later.
Purpose: The term of placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorder includes all grades of abnormal placentation. It is crucial for pathologist provide standardized diagnostic assessment to evaluate the outcome of management strategies. Moreover, a correct and safe diagnosis is useful in the medico-legal field when it becomes difficult for the gynecologist to demonstrate the suitability and legitimacy of demolitive treatment.

We have investigated their simultaneous administration in breast cancer (BC) survivors or carriers of specific genetic mutations that can increase the risk of developing BC suffering from abnormal uterine bleeding without organic cause.
Methods: Women with irregular cycles in terms of length (interval between ≤ 24 or ≥ 38 days) without a uterine organic disease (polyps, adenomyosis, fibroids, hyperplasia/malignancy) were included.
The postpartum period is the perfect time to access family planning services. WHO guidelines contraindicate combined hormonal contraceptives postpartum in breastfeeding patients between 6 weeks and 6 months after delivery (Medical Eligibility Criteria category 3). On the contrary, the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines do not contraindicate their use in women who breastfeed from 6 weeks to 6 months postpartum.

This study aims to evaluate how the exposure of pregnant women to a prolonged ROM (≥ 24 hours) affects maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Study Design: This retrospective cohort study included singleton pregnant women at term delivering between January 2019 and March 2020 in a tertiary hospital.
Background: Phthalates are non-persistent chemicals largely used as plasticizers and considered ubiquitous pollutants with endocrine disrupting activity. The exposure during sensible temporal windows as pregnancy and early childhood, may influence physiological neurodevelopment.
Aims And Scope: The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between the urinary levels of phthalate metabolites in newborn and infants and the global development measured by the Griffiths Scales of Children Development (GSCD) at six months.

Background/aim Of The Study: L-Arginine (L-Arg)/Nitric Oxide (NO) system is involved in the pathophysiology of relevant Obstetric conditions. This review aims at summarizing the effects of L-Arg supplementation in pregnancy looking at safety and efficacy.
Methods: We conducted a systematic review of the literature utilizing PubMed for studies published from inception to September 2022.
Background: The use of epidural analgesia represents the gold standard for pain management during labor, but the influence of the use of epidural analgesia on delivery mode is not fully understood.
Objective: This study aimed to analyze the impact of epidural analgesia on the delivery mode, namely, cesarean delivery, vaginal delivery, and operative vaginal delivery rates, in Robson class 1 women.
Study Design: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on all Robson class 1 women who delivered from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2019, in the University Hospital of Modena.

Introduction: Both Food and Drugs Administration and European Medicine Agency (EMA) approve the use of a triphasic combined oral contraceptive (COC) containing ethinyl-oestradiol (EE) and norgestimate (NGM) for acne vulgaris treatment in women requiring an effective contraception. COCs can target sebum production and may also play a role in decreasing follicular hyperkeratinisation.
Results: Specific advantages of the use of an anti-androgenic progestin such as NGM in this condition are presented in this review, including the lowest venous thrombosis risk in the COCs scenario, as established by the EMA, associated with a very satisfactory cycle control.

Background: Active fetal movements (AFMs) are a sign of the well-being of the baby during pregnancy and suggests the integrity of the cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and nervous systems of the fetus. The abnormal perception of AFMs is associated with an increased risk of adverse perinatal outcomes such as stillbirth (SB) and brain damage. Several definitions of " decreased fetal movements" have been proposed, but none of them has been universally accepted.
