Methods: A registry was compiled of all gastro-oesophageal reflux disease patients seen during a 2-week period by 1983 French primary care physicians. Data from the first two patients with nocturnal gastro-oesophageal reflux disease symptoms and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease-related sleep disturbances seen by each physician were derived from physician questionnaires and medical records.
Background: Screening for and management of dyslipidaemia are crucial in primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease. The impact on general practitioners (GP) of the 2005 French guidelines for hypercholesterolaemia has not been evaluated.

Objective: Most evidence-based practice guidelines identify low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) as the primary target of cholesterol-lowering therapy; the optimal LDL-C concentration is based on the patient's individual risk level. The aim of this study was to determine the proportion of patients on lipid-lowering drugs who reach the LDL-C goals recommended in guidelines.
Methods: The CEPHEUS study was conducted in eight European countries in patients, who had been treated with lipid-lowering drugs for at least three months, with no dose adjustment for a minimum of six weeks.
Adenovirus serotype 5 protein IX (pIX) has two domains connected by a flexible linker. Structure determination of the fiberless dodecahedron by cryo-electron microscopy to 9 Angstroms resolution reveals tightly bound pentamer subunits, with only minimal interfaces between penton bases stabilizing the fragile dodecahedron. The internal cavity of the dodecahedron is approximately 80 Angstroms in diameter, and the interior surface is accessible to solvent through perforations of approximately 20 Angstroms diameter between the pentamer towers.
