The effect of a combined mHealth and community health worker intervention on HIV self-management.

Objective: To identify demographic, social, and clinical factors associated with HIV self-management and evaluate whether the CHAMPS intervention is associated with changes in an individual's HIV self-management.

Method: This study was a secondary data analysis from a randomized controlled trial evaluating the effects of the CHAMPS, a mHealth intervention with community health worker sessions, on HIV self-management in New York City (NYC) and Birmingham. Group comparisons and linear regression analyses identified demographic, social, and clinical factors associated with HIV self-management.

Creating Perinatal Nursing Care Plans Using ChatGPT: A Pathway to Improve Nursing Care Plans and Reduce Documentation Burden.

Background: Extensive time spent on documentation in electronic health records (EHRs) impedes patient care and contributes to nurse burnout. Artificial intelligence-based clinical decision support tools within the EHR, such as ChatGPT, can provide care plan recommendations to the perinatal nurse. The lack of explicit methodologies for effectively integrating ChatGPT led to our initiative to build and demonstrate our ChatGPT-4 prompt to support nurse care planning.

An example of leveraging AI for documentation: ChatGPT-generated nursing care plan for an older adult with lung cancer.

Objective: Our article demonstrates the effectiveness of using a validated framework to create a ChatGPT prompt that generates valid nursing care plan suggestions for one hypothetical older patient with lung cancer.

Method: This study describes the methodology for creating ChatGPT prompts that generate consistent care plan suggestions and its application for a lung cancer case scenario. After entering a nursing assessment of the patient's condition into ChatGPT, we asked it to generate care plan suggestions.

Background: Spiritual care has been associated with better health outcomes. Despite increasing evidence of the benefits of spiritual care for older patients coping with illness and aggressive treatment, the role of spirituality is not well understood and implemented. Nurses, as frontline holistic healthcare providers, are in a position to address patients' spiritual needs and support them in finding meaning in life.

Examining Care Planning Efficiency and Clinical Decision Support Adoption in a System Tailoring to Nurses' Graph Literacy: National, Web-Based Randomized Controlled Trial.

Background: The proliferation of health care data in electronic health records (EHRs) is fueling the need for clinical decision support (CDS) that ensures accuracy and reduces cognitive processing and documentation burden. The CDS format can play a key role in achieving the desired outcomes. The aim of this study was to evaluate and correlate modifications of vaginal mucous impedance, vulvar temperature and ultrasonographic measurements (echobiometric parameters) to parturition in pregnant Saanen does. 30 does were selected for the study and submitted to an estrus synchronization protocol and natural mating. The females were evaluated daily from Day 143 of pregnancy to parturition.

Despite increasing evidence of the benefits of spiritual care and nurses' efforts to incorporate spiritual interventions into palliative care and clinical practice, the role of spirituality is not well understood and implemented. There are divergent meanings and practices within and across countries. Understanding the delivery of spiritual interventions may lead to improved patient outcomes.

Brazilian questionnaire of competencies of oncology nurses: Construction and test of content validation.

Objective: This study aimed to describe construction and content validation of the Brazilian Questionnaire of Competencies of Oncology Nurses.

Methods: The methodological research was constructed based on the literature and observation in Brazilian hospitals searching to identify local evidence in the nursing practice. After, the construction of the 30 items distributed in eight sub-dimensions of competencies, the instrument was tested the content validation by 7 experts and 61 oncology nurses.

Discovery of a new antiviral protein isolated Lonomia obliqua analysed by bioinformatics and real-time approaches.

This study presents a new recombinant protein that acts as a powerful antiviral (rAVLO-recombinant Antiviral protein of Lonomia obliqua). It was able to reduce the replication by 10(6) fold for herpes virus and by 10(4) fold for rubella virus. RT-PCR of viral RNA rAVLO treated infected cells also showed similar rate of inhibition in replication.

Brazilian spotted fever: real-time PCR for diagnosis of fatal cases.

Suspicion of Brazilian spotted fever (BSF) should occur in endemic regions upon surveillance of the acute febrile icteric hemorrhagic syndrome (AFIHS). However, limitations associated with currently available laboratory tests pose a challenge to early diagnosis, especially in fatal cases. Two real-time PCR (qPCR) protocols were evaluated to diagnose BSF in 110 fatal AFIHS cases, collected in BSF-endemic regions in 2009-2010.
