In response to the mass adoption and extensive usage of Internet-enabled devices across the world, a major review published in this journal in 2019 examined the impact of Internet on human cognition, discussing the concepts and ideas behind the "online brain". Since then, the online world has become further entwined with the fabric of society, and the extent to which we use such technologies has continued to grow. Further, the Socioeconomic Structure Compensation Index (SSCI), collected from Uppsala municipality, was used to assess preschool-level socio-economic deprivation.

The purpose of this study was to compare clients' prevalence and explore the characteristics that predicted access and engagement with IAPT treatment before, during, and after Lockdown. We conducted a retrospective observational service evaluation, using routinely collected IAPT data from  = 13,019 clients who entered treatment between March and September in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Chi-square and multiple logistic regression were used to explore associations and potential predictors of access and engagement with IAPT treatment.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy for hydrophobic ion-pairing of surfactants based on arginine (Arg). The prepared Arg-cholesteryl ester (ACE) and Arg-diosgenyl ester (ADE) were characterized regarding solubility, pKa, critical micellar concentration (CMC), biodegradability as well as membrane- and aquatic toxicity using DOTAP as reference. The ability for hydrophobic ion-pairing was evaluated and the lipophilicity of formed complexes was determined.

Aim: To explore the influence of parents' socio-economic characteristics on child healthcare nurses' mental health referrals of 3- to 5-year-olds and also to test the association between mental health problems and referrals.

Methods: Repeated cross-sectional data including parents' Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) assessments and referral data (psychologist and speech and language pathologist). Hierarchical regression was used to analyse whether parents' country of birth, education level, marital status and mental health problem scores (SDQ; total difficulties and impact scores) were associated with nurses' referrals.

Although emotional and behavioural problems among young children are common and, if unaddressed, can lead to multi-facetted problems later in life, there is little research investigating the implementation of parenting programs that target these problems. In this study, the RE-AIM framework was used to evaluate the implementation of the Triple P parenting program in a preschool setting at a medium-sized municipality in Sweden. Reach increased over time, showing an overall increase in participating fathers and parents with lower education.

Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) can enhance children's communication and is recommended to be introduced as soon as problems are identified. The aim of this interview study was to investigate how parents perceive the ComAlong Toddler intervention offered to parents of children with communication difficulties early in the diagnostic process. ComAlong Toddler consists of a 5-session, group-based, parental course, and two home visits that focus on responsive communication, enhanced milieu teaching, and multimodal AAC.

Purpose: To evaluate visual outcomes at different distances (near, intermediate, and far), depth of focus, optical quality, quantitative dysphotopsia, and patient satisfaction in two groups.

Methods: The extended depth of focus (EDOF) only group (n = 40 eyes) was implanted bilaterally with an EDOF intraocular lens (IOL) and the mixed group (n = 40 eyes) was implanted with the same EDOF IOL in the dominant eye and a trifocal IOL in the fellow eye. At the 3-month postoperative visit, refractive outcomes and monocular and binocular uncorrected (UDVA) and corrected (CDVA) distance visual acuities for far UDVA, CDVA, distance-corrected intermediate visual acuity (DCIVA) at 80 cm, uncorrected near visual acuity (UNVA), distance-corrected near visual acuity (DCNVA) at 40 cm, and binocular defocus curve were evaluated.

Background: The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), a valid and reliable instrument for measuring children's mental health, is available in parent- and teacher versions, making it an ideal tool for assessing behavioural and emotional problems in young children. However, few studies have evaluated inter-parent agreement on the SDQ, and in most studies on SDQ agreement, parent scores are either provided by only one parent or have been combined into one parent score. Furthermore, studies on SDQ inter-rater agreement usually only reflect degree of correlation, leaving the agreement between measurements unknown.

Objective: Dissimilarities in antigen processing and presentation are known to contribute to the differential association of HLA-B*27 subtypes with the inflammatory rheumatic disease ankylosing spondylitis (AS). In support of this notion, previous x-ray crystallographic data showed that peptides can be displayed by almost identical HLA-B*27 molecules in a subtype-dependent manner, allowing cytotoxic T lymphocytes to distinguish between these subtypes. For example, a human self-peptide derived from vasoactive intestinal peptide receptor type 1 (pVIPR; sequence RRKWRRWHL) is displayed in a single conformation by B*27:09 (which is not associated with AS), while B*27:05 (which is associated with AS) presents the peptide in a dual binding mode.

Objective: There is lack of knowledge regarding antenatal care midwives' perspectives concerning parental classes provided during pregnancy, and this study aimed to explore midwives' experiences and thoughts about these parental class activities.

Methods: Twenty-six semi-structured, individual, telephone interviews were carried out with midwives at antenatal clinics across Sweden, and the data were analysed using systematic text condensation (STC).

Results: The midwives noted that parental classes were a demanding task, and they appeared to lack the confidence and skills required to manage the classes.

Human activity causes ocean acidification (OA) though the dissolution of anthropogenically generated CO2 into seawater, and eutrophication through the addition of inorganic nutrients. Eutrophication increases the phytoplankton biomass that can be supported during a bloom, and the resultant uptake of dissolved inorganic carbon during photosynthesis increases water-column pH (bloom-induced basification). This increased pH can adversely affect plankton growth.

We demonstrate three possible scenarios for upgrading current single-mode transmission networks with high capacity few-mode fiber technology using mode-division multiplexing (MDM). The results were obtained from measurements over a number of field-deployed single-mode fiber links with an additional experimental in-line amplified few-mode fiber link. The results confirm the viability of employing MDM using few-mode fiber technology to gradually replace legacy optical systems.
