Gefitinib is used as a first-line treatment for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Unfortunately, most NSCLC patients inevitably develop gefitinib resistance during treatment. In addition to EGFR mutation status, the mechanisms involved are largely unknown.
