Objective: To study the effect of phenformin hydrochloride that may be illegally added in traditional Chinese medicine preparations on the pharmacokinetics of puerarin in rats.
Method: Rats were randomly divided into the single pueraria group and the phenformin hydrochloride combined with pueraria group. After oral administration in the two groups, their bloods were sampled at different time points to determine the drug concentration of puerarin in rat blood and calculate pharmacokinetic parameters.

To study the chemical composition of the skin of Bufo bufo gargarizans, various chromatographic methods were used in the isolation procedures and the structures of isolated compounds were determined based on NMR and MS analysis. As a result, two new compounds were isolated from its ethanolic extract and characterized as N-[2-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethyl]-N-methylurea (1) and 19-oxocinobufotalin 3-adipoylarginine ester (2), together with 11 known compounds. Isolated bufadienolides showed significant inhibition effect against human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line SMMC-7721 in vitro.

A high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method employing amylose-based chiral columns (Chiralpak AD-RH and Chiralpak AD) and cellulose-based chiral columns (Chiralcel OD) as chiral stationary phases have been developed for the enantiomeric separation of fluoxetine (FLX) derivatives. The FLX was derivatized with 4-(N-chloroformylmethyl-N-methyl)amino-7-nitro-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole (NBD-COCl) and 4-(N-chloroformylmethyl-N-methyl)amino-7-N,N-dimethylaminosulfonyl-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole (DBD-COCl), respectively.
