Methods: We evaluated 342 patients who underwent complete anatomical resection and mediastinal LND for radiologically solid dominant clinical (c)-Stage I left upper lobe NSCLC between 2008 and 2022. Solid dominant was defined as a consolidation tumor ratio >0.
Platinum-based definitive chemoradiotherapy (dCRT) is the standard treatment for patients with unresectable locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) that invades the aorta, vertebral body or trachea; however, complete response rates remain low (11-25%), leading to poor survival. To evaluate the additive efficacy of the anti-PD-L1 antibody drug atezolizumab, we conducted a phase 2, multicenter, single-arm trial of 1 year of atezolizumab treatment following dCRT in 40 patients with unresectable locally advanced ESCC recruited from seven Japanese centers (UMIN000034373). The confirmed complete response (cCR) rate (primary end point) of the first consecutive 38 patients was 42.

Despite normal vitamin B12 levels, the endoscopic findings of the residual fundic glands and severe atrophy predominantly in the body of the stomach and fundus, along with serological tests, confirmed a diagnosis of autoimmune gastritis (AIG). This case highlights the significance of an early AIG diagnosis in non-elderly patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) and autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD) because of the risk of developing pernicious anemia and gastric neoplasms.

Methods: Between 2009 and 2021, 115 patients underwent complete anatomical lung resection with mediastinal lymphadenectomy for p-stage IB non-squamous NSCLC harboring common EGFR mutations. The patients were classified into the part-solid and pure-solid arms based on the presence of GGO components.
In this study, we used single-cell sequencing, which can comprehensively detect the type and number of transcripts per cell, to efficiently stimulate peripheral blood mononuclear cells of type 1 diabetic patients with overlapping peptides of GAD, IA-2, and insulin antigens, and performed gene expression analysis by single-cell variable-diversity-joining sequencing and T-cell receptor repertoire analysis. Twenty male patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus participating in the KAMOGAWA-DM cohort were included. Four of them were randomly selected for BD Rhapsody system after reacting peripheral blood mononuclear cells with overlapping peptides of GAD, IA-2, and insulin antigen.

Obesity is a global health concern that promotes chronic low-grade inflammation, leading to insulin resistance, a key factor in many metabolic diseases. Angiotensin 1-7 (Ang 1-7), a component of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS), exhibits anti-inflammatory effects in obesity and related disorders, though its mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we examined the effect of Ang 1-7 on inflammation of white adipose tissue (WAT) in dietary-induced obese mice.
