Objective/hypothesis: Nasopharyngeal adenoid cystic carcinoma (NACC) is a rare malignancy with special biological features. Clear consensus is not available regarding the clinical characters, management approaches, and prognostic factors. We presented one institution's experience with this tumor and the outcomes of treatment.

[Concurrent chemoradiotherapy versus radiotherapy alone for locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma: a meta-analysis].

Synthesis, characterization, antioxidant activity and DNA-binding studies of three rare earth (III) complexes with 1-(4-aminoantipyrine)-3-tosylurea ligand.

1-(4-aminoantipyrine)-3-tosylurea (H2L) and its three lanthanide (III) complexes, M(H2L)3 3NO3 [where M=Nd(III), Sm(III) and Eu(III)], have been synthesized and characterized. In addition, the DNA-binding properties of the three complexes have been investigated by UV-vis (ultraviolet and visible) absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and viscosity measurements. Results suggest that the three complexes bind to DNA via a groove binding mode.

A new ligand, 1-cyclohexyl-3-tosylurea (H(2)L), was prepared by condensation ethyl N-(3-tossulfonyl) carbamate and cyclohexanamine. [Clinical study of 36 cases with adenoid cystic carcinoma of the maxillary sinus].

[Changes of hypoxia in primary lesion of nasopharyngeal carcinoma during the treatment course and the clinical value thereof].

Objective: To investigate the hypoxia status in the primary lesion of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) during the treatment and the clinical value thereof.

Methods: Sixty-two patients with untreated NPC were examined by 99m Tc-4, 9-diaza-3, 3, 10, 10-tetramethy ldodecan-2, 11-dione dioxime (99 Tcm-HL91) SPECT imaging and CT-simulation (CT-Sim) scan before the treatment, in the mid-treatment (after receiving about 40 Gy) and at the end of treatment respectively. (1) All hypoxia images obtained at the 3 time pints were analyzed by visual analysis and semi-quantitative analysis, the radioactivity ratio of the high density region in the nasopharyngeal lesion to the normal nasopharyngeal tissue (T+/N) was calculated with the technique of region of interesting (ROI).

[Sentinel lymph node radiolocalization in squamous cell carcinoma of the oral tongue].

Background & Objective: At present, there is no clinical examination that can accurately assess the lymph node metastasis status of oral tongue carcinoma with clinically negative neck lymph node (cN0) before operation. Therefore, the treatment of cN0 neck is still controversial. Sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy may be the evidence for individual treatment of cN0 neck.

[Roles of single photo emission computed tomography-CT in detecting residual tumor from patients with thyroid carcinoma].

Objective: As newly, functional, diagnostic measure-18F-deoxyglucose single photo emission computed tomography (18F-FDG SPECT-CT) has well sensitivity and specialty , it was proved availability in differentiating benign and malignant tumor. In this study, it was compared the efficiency of detecting residual tumor of thyroid cancer between 18F-FDG SPECT-CT and CT-TWIN.

[Biological characteristics of human peripheric CD4+ CD25- T cells isolated and cultured in vitro].

Aim: To isolate peripheric CD4(+) CD25(-) T cells in vitro, and study their biological characteristics.

Methods: Human peripheric blood CD4(+) CD25(-) T cells were isolated by discontinuous density gradient centrfugal and dynal immunomagnetic beads, and then divided into three groups: control group(A), LPS group (B) and LPS+TGF-beta1 mAb group (D), After they were prepared 4 h, 3 d and 5 d, the percentage of CD4(+) CD25(+) T cells were tested by FCM, the levels of TGF-beta1 in cultured supernatants were detected by ELISA, and the expression of FOXP3 mRNA was examined by RT-PCR.

Results: (1)LM showed CD4(+) CD25(-) T cells were of spherical cell nucleus, After CD4(+) CD25(-) T cells were cultured by anti-CD3/CD28 in vitro, their cellular volume increased and cytoplasm contained more particles.
