Background: There is some evidence that perinatal anxiety (PNA) is associated with lower rates of infant vaccinations and decreased access to preventative infant healthcare, but results across studies have not been conclusive.
Objective: To investigate the relationship between maternal PNA and infant primary care use.
Methods: Cohort study of mother-infant pairs identified between 1998 and 2016 using IQVIA Medical Research Database (IMRD).
Background: The earliest recognized biomarker of AD is deposition of Aβ amyloid that leads to formation of plaques and may, over time, trigger or at least be followed by gliosis/neuroinflammation and neurofibrillary tangles, accompanied by neurodegenerative changes including neuronal and synaptic loss. We have previously reported that semaphorin 4D (SEMA4D), the major ligand of plexin B receptors expressed on astrocytes, is upregulated in diseased neurons during progression of AD and Huntington's disease (HD). Binding of SEMA4D to PLXNB receptors triggers astrocyte reactivity, leading to loss of neuroprotective homeostatic functions, including downregulation of glutamate and glucose transporters (doi:10.

Typically, PSPs have utilized platinum(II)-5,10,15,20-tetrakis(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorophenyl)-porphyrin due to its high pressure sensitivity, phosphorescence lifetime of ∼50 μs, reasonable quantum yield of emission, and resistance to photo-oxidation. This work investigates the photophysics and electronic structure of metal complexes of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorophenyl)-porphyrin, namely, Zn(II), Pd(II), and Ir(III), as potentially improved luminophores for polymer-based PSPs.

There are no published standards defining the care inpatients should receive from physiotherapists in Aotearoa New Zealand. This study aims to explore the potential of using clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) to develop a set of evidence-based standards for physiotherapy in inpatient settings.

Objectives: Bispecific antibodies targeting CD47 and PD-L1 (CD47 × PD-L1 BisAb) demonstrate efficacy against a range of solid cancers. While dual blockade negates anti-CD47-mediated toxicity, the effect of combined innate and adaptive immune activation on protective tumor-resident CD8 T cells has yet to be fully elucidated.
Methods: CD8 T cell populations were tracked upon CD47 × PD-L1 BisAb treatment in an orthotopic model of murine breast cancer where anti-tumor immunity is mediated by CD8 T cells.
We report a patient in North Carolina, USA, with Heartland virus infection whose diagnosis was complicated by previous Ehrlichia chaffeensis infection. We identified E. ewingii-infected and Bourbon virus-infected tick pools at the patient's residence.

The objective of this study to determine if rurality-measured as distance from the hospital-and socioeconomic status-measured as insurance payor-impact both spontaneous and medically indicated preterm birth incidence at a single rural academic institution.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study using electronic medical records of patients with singleton pregnancies delivering at a single rural academic institution between 2016-2018.
Queerphobia is defined as society's negative attitude towards LGBTQIA + people, translating into structures that marginalise LGBTQIA + people and contribute to health inequities that cause real harm and can be understood as structural violence. The purpose of this article is to explore what historically marginalised youth in a youth participatory action research (YPAR) project characterise as the big picture issues affecting the lives of LGBTQIA + youth. We used participatory arts-based methods to conduct community and identity building, define research questions and photo prompts, conduct data collection, engage in group thematic analysis, and make recommendations at the state policy level.

The astrocyte, a major glial cell type in the central nervous system (CNS), is widely regarded as a functionally diverse mediator of homeostasis. During development and throughout adulthood, astrocytes have essential roles, such as providing neuron metabolic support, modulating synaptic function, and maintaining the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Recent evidence continues to underscore their functional heterogeneity and importance for CNS maintenance, as well as how these cells ensure optimal CNS and immune responses to disease, acute trauma, and infection.

However, the generated carbon product typically belongs to a low-value amorphous type. Here, we elucidate the thermochemical mechanisms of a reaction that produces high-quality graphite via direct solar methane pyrolysis on a porous substrate.

Older adults are less likely to seek help for these problems due to a lack of awareness, difficulty accessing health care due to availability or disability and fear of loss of independence. Existing points of contact between older adults and non-traditional services, for example, the Fire and Rescue Service (FRS), could provide opportunities to support help-seeking for mental ill-health.

This study explores the association between CBEs and pedestrian volume (PV). Comprehensive questionnaires, field audits, and GIS were used to measure the CBE variables and PV of 892 street segments on eight Chinese campuses in Tianjin.

BBB properties can vary between brain regions to support regional functions, yet how BBB heterogeneity occurs is poorly understood. Here, we used single-cell and spatial transcriptomics to compare the mouse median eminence, one of the circumventricular organs that has naturally leaky blood vessels, with the cortex.

Despite the ILAE consensus statement noting the positive effects of exercise in patients with epilepsy (PWE) and individual assessment of risks pertaining to these activities, many healthcare professionals, including neurologists, are unfamiliar with these guidelines. Neurostimulation is an increasingly prevalent treatment option for refractory epilepsy.

New biomarkers for assessing graft quality pre-implantation, detecting, and predicting graft injury, rejection, dysfunction, and survival are critical to provide clinicians with invaluable prediction tools and guidance for personalized patients' treatment. Additionally, new therapeutic targets are also needed to reduce injury and rejection and improve transplant outcomes.

There are limited data on the approach to high-activity RAI treatment in paraplegic patients. We report a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary approach to the management of bedbound patients, covering necessary radiation safety measures that lead to radiation exposure levels as low as reasonably achievable.

Background: Perinatal anxiety (PNA) occurs throughout the antenatal period or up to 1 year after childbirth, with a prevalence of 21%.
Aim: To investigate if primary care records could be used to identify women at 'higher risk' of PNA.
Method: Mixed-methods approach using quantitative and qualitative methods.
Background: Perinatal anxiety (PNA) occurs during pregnancy and up to 12 months post-partum. PNA affects more than 21% of women and can impact adversely on mothers, children and their families. National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance identified evidence gaps around non-pharmacological interventions for PNA.
