Lung fibrosis development utilizes alveolar macrophages, with mechanisms that are incompletely understood. Here, we fate map connective tissue during mouse lung fibrosis and observe disassembly and transfer of connective tissue macromolecules from pleuro-alveolar junctions (PAJs) into deep lung tissue, to activate fibroblasts and fibrosis. Disassembly and transfer of PAJ macromolecules into deep lung tissue occurs by alveolar macrophages, activating cysteine-type proteolysis on pleural mesothelium.

Doubly uniparental inheritance (DUI) is an atypical animal mtDNA inheritance system, reported so far only in bivalve species, in which two mitochondrial lineages exist: one transmitted through the egg (F-type) and the other through the sperm (M-type). High magnetic field homogeneity is critical for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), functional MRI, and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) applications. B inhomogeneity during MR scans is a long-standing problem resulting from magnet imperfections and site conditions, with the main issue being the inhomogeneity across the human body caused by differences in magnetic susceptibilities between tissues, resulting in signal loss, image distortion, and poor spectral resolution. Through a combination of passive and active shim techniques, as well as technological advances employing multi-coil techniques, optimal coil design, motion tracking, and real-time modifications, improved field homogeneity and image quality have been achieved in MRI/MRS.

U1 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) is an abundant and evolutionarily conserved 164-nucleotide RNA species that functions in pre-mRNA splicing, and it is considered to be a housekeeping non-coding RNA. However, the role of U1 snRNA in regulating host antiviral immunity remains largely unexplored. The effects of simulated acid rain (SAR) on the photosynthetic performance of subtropical coniferous species have not been thoroughly investigated. In this study, we treated two coniferous species, (PM) and (CL), with four gradients of SAR and then analyzed their photosynthetic activities through measurements of gas exchange, prompt fluorescence (PF), delayed fluorescence (DF), and modulated reflection at 820 nm (MR).
