To provide fluorinated allylamines, a visible-light photocatalytic C-F/C-H coupling of easily accessible -difluoroalkenes and secondary -alkylanilines was described. The protocol proceeded under mild conditions, with excellent functional group compatibility and a broad scope including complex natural product derivatives, thus providing a green method for the preparation of high-value functionalized monofluoroalkenes. Mechanistic studies elucidated a photoredox catalyzed radical-radical coupling pathway.

The effect of calcium (Ca)-cadmium (Cd) interactions on the plant Cd bioaccumulation process may be closely related to the ecological Ca/Cd stoichiometry in the substrate. However, owing to the complexity of plant absorption, accumulation mechanisms and influencing factors, the mechanism of Ca-mediated Cd bioaccumulation and Cd tolerance in Capsicum is still unclear. In this study, the bioaccumulation, subcellular distribution and chemical forms of Cd in Capsicum were analysed via pot experiments to reveal the Ca-mediated Cd bioaccumulation process and its detoxification mechanism under different Ca/Cd stoichiometric ratios.

A wide variety of electrophilic derivatives of itaconate, the Kreb's cycle-derived metabolite, are immunomodulatory, yet these derivatives have overlapping and sometimes contradictory activities. Therefore, we generated a genetic system to interrogate the immunomodulatory functions of endogenously produced itaconate in human macrophages. Endogenous itaconate is driven by multiple innate signals restraining inflammatory cytokine production.

Purpose To investigate whether infarct-to-remote myocardial contrast can be optimized by replacing generic fitting algorithms used to obtain native T1 maps with a data-driven machine learning pixel-wise approach in chronic reperfused infarct in a canine model. Materials and Methods A controlled large animal model (24 canines, equal male and female animals) of chronic myocardial infarction with histologic evidence of heterogeneous infarct tissue composition was studied. Unsupervised clustering techniques using self-organizing maps and -distributed stochastic neighbor embedding were used to analyze and visualize native T1-weighted pixel-intensity patterns.

During the rice milling process, single and continuous compression occurs between brown rice and the processing parts. When the external load exceeds the yield limit of brown rice, brown rice kernels are damaged; with an increase in compression deformation or the extent of compression, the amount of damage to the kernels expands and accumulates, ultimately leading to the fracture and breakage of kernels. In order to investigate the mechanical compression damage characteristics of brown rice kernels under real-world working conditions, this study constructs an elastic-plastic compression model and a continuous damage model of brown rice kernels based on Hertz theory and continuous damage theory; the accuracy of this model is verified through experiments, and the relevant processing critical parameters are calculated.
