Background: Vaccination is the most remarkable intervention in public health and is an effective strategy in controlling infectious diseases among infants.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the adverse events of Pentavalent vaccine and DPT vaccine in two- to six-month-old infants in Iran.
Methods: This is an analytical cross-sectional study in which healthy infants aged two to six months, having received DPT vaccine in 2013 and Pentavalent vaccine in 2015, were studied for any experienced adverse events related to these vaccines.
Background: The aim of this study was to assess the accuracy and quality of immunization data on the pentavalent (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B and Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib)) and MMR vaccines as the administrative data of the expanded program on immunization (EPI) in Iran.
Methods: We conducted a Data Quality Self-assessment (DQS) survey from October to December 2017. Standardized DQS tools were used to assess the accuracy of reported immunizations data and quality of the immunization monitoring system at the provincial level of the healthcare system including health houses, health posts, rural and urban health centers and district health centers.
Purpose: We investigated the contribution of cytochrome P450 (CYP) 1B1 to hypertension and its pathogenesis by examining the effect of its selective inhibitor, 2,4,3',5'-tetramethoxystilbene (TMS), in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR).
Methods: Blood pressure (BP) was measured bi-weekly. Starting at 8 weeks, TMS (600 μg/kg, i.
Previously, we showed that the cytochrome P450 1B1 inhibitor 2,3',4,5'-tetramethoxystilbene reversed deoxycorticosterone acetate (DOCA)-salt-induced hypertension and minimized endothelial and renal dysfunction in the rat. This study was conducted to test the hypothesis that cytochrome P450 1B1 contributes to cardiac dysfunction, and renal damage and inflammation associated with DOCA-salt-induced hypertension, via increased production of reactive oxygen species and modulation of neurohumoral factors and signaling molecules. DOCA-salt increased systolic blood pressure, cardiac and renal cytochrome P450 1B1 activity, and plasma levels of catecholamines, vasopressin, and endothelin-1 in wild-type (Cyp1b1(+/+)) mice that were minimized in Cyp1b1(-/-) mice.

CYP1B1 is expressed in cardiovascular and renal tissues, and mediates angiotensin II (Ang II)-induced activation of NADPH oxidase and generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), and vascular smooth muscle cell migration, proliferation, and hypertrophy. Moreover, CYP1B1 contributes to the development and/or maintenance of hypertension produced by Ang II-, deoxycorticosterone (DOCA)-salt-, and N(ω)-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester-induced hypertension and in spontaneously hypertensive rats.
