Compatibility of cellulose-PEDOT:PSS composites and anions in solid-state organic electrochemical transistors.

We investigate the effects of water-processable celluloses on the charge-transport properties in the conducting polymer composites and their solid-state organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs). Water-soluble methyl cellulose (MC) and water-dispersible cellulose nanofiber (CNF) are blended with poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) in solution and used as a conductive channel. Both cellulose-PEDOT:PSS composites show fibrillar structures in thin films with respective dimensions of cellulose.

The Resurging of Hydrocarbon Gas as Early Sign of Battery Rollover Degradation.

Gas analysis offers real-time critical insights into the various processes occurring within batteries. However, monitoring battery degradation through gas formation remains relatively underexplored. Traditional coin cell setups pose challenges for long-cycle experiments and do not accurately reflect real-life battery usage.

The Theranostic Genome.

Theranostic drugs represent an emerging path to deliver on the promise of precision medicine. However, bottlenecks remain in characterizing theranostic targets, identifying theranostic lead compounds, and tailoring theranostic drugs. To overcome these bottlenecks, we present the Theranostic Genome, the part of the human genome whose expression can be utilized to combine therapeutic and diagnostic applications.

Utilization of recommended safe-landing strategies during falls in mountain biking.

Falls are common in mountain biking (MTB), and often involve high speeds, large descent heights, and rough landing terrains. However, most falls in MTB do not cause serious injury. This may be due, in part, to protective movements used by MTB riders to avoid injury.

Extubation Failure in the PICU: A Virtual Pediatric Systems Database Study, 2017-2021.

Objectives: Extubation failure (EF) in PICU patients is reintubation within 48, 72, or 96 hours of planned extubation (EF48, EF72, and EF96, respectively). Standardized sedation protocols, extubation readiness testing, and noninvasive respiratory support are used to improve efficient liberation from mechanical ventilation (MV). We therefore aimed to review EF rates, time to failure, and the use of noninvasive respiratory support after extubation, 2017-2021.
