Two young female dogs were diagnosed with hydrocolpos as a result of a congenital vaginal obstruction. In one dog, hydrocolpos had led to faecal tenesmus; in the other, the condition was an incidental finding during laparotomy. Diagnostic tests included vaginoscopy, ultrasonography and retrograde vagino-urethrocystography.
