The results of conservative therapy in 160 patients with so-called idiopathic facial paralysis are reported. In 94.2% of the patients a complete or far extending normalisation took place.

The number of late complications after tracheostomy has increased due to new indications especially reanimation. Tracheal stenosis is the most severe complication. Its treatment by resection and end to end anastomosis, tracheopexy, plastic reconstruction or by endotheses is discussed.

In spite of the introduction of new examination methods (positive contrast demonstration, tomography, CAT) difficulties may be encountered in the instrumental diagnosis of smaller neurinomas of the auditory nerve. That is why one has already for some time tried to reach the pontine-angle with the endoscope. Until now, this has been done by the transpyramidal-retrolabyrinthal route.
