Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease (KFD) is a rare condition characterized by necrotizing lymphadenitis and fever, often associated with immune dysregulation. Histologically, it features necrotic foci with abundant histiocytes and plasmacytoid dendritic cells but notably lacks neutrophils and eosinophils. Recent evidence reveals a notable prevalence among pediatric patients, who may exhibit distinct features compared to adults.

Background/objectives: Local intralesional corticosteroid injections into the periungual fold are used to treat patients with onychocryptosis, but their short- or medium-term effects are unknown. The goal was to compare the efficacy of this treatment in stages IIa, IIb, and III of the condition with a common conservative method such as gauze bandaging.

Methods: A two-arm randomized trial with 40 patients with stage IIa, IIb, and III onychocryptosis equally assigned into two treatment groups-control (spiculotomy and application of gauze bandaging) and experimental group (spiculotomy and infiltration of corticosteroid)-was performed.

Introduction: Locally advanced basal cell carcinoma (LA-BCC) is defined as that BCC in which there is radiological confirmation of invasion of certain neighboring structures in depth and also, usually, a BCC that is of a sufficient size and invasion (although there is no radiological demonstration of deep invasion) in which surgery and radiotherapy are not adequate, are insufficient or are contraindicated to achieve the cure of the tumor, either due to characteristics of the tumor itself or of the patient. Sonidegib is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with locally advanced basal cell carcinoma that is not amenable to curative surgery or radiotherapy.

Material And Methods: This is a retrospective, multicenter and descriptive study in nine centers in Andalusia, Spain.
