Background: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is one of the most common functional gastrointestinal disorders with significant impact on quality of life (QOL). Considering the role of stress in the clinical course of IBS, we investigated associations between stress coping skills and symptoms and QOL in IBS patient.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 95 IBS patients referring to tertiary care centers.

A nanophosphor of LiF:Mg,Cu,Ag was prepared by planetary ball milling for the first time in the laboratory. The size and shape of the nanophosphor were confirmed by XRD and SEM, which showed that it was cubic in shape and ~53 nm in size. The thermoluminescence (TL) characteristics of this nanophosphor were then investigated.

LiF:Mg,Cu,Ag is a new dosimetry material that is similar to LiF:Mg,Cu,P in terms of dosimetric properties. The effect of the annealing temperature in the range of 200 to 350°C on the thermoluminescence (TL) sensitivity and the glow curve structure of this material at different concentrations of silver (Ag) was investigated. It has been demonstrated that the optimum values of the annealing temperature and the Ag concentration are 240°C and 0.

In this study, the preparation procedure and dosimetric characteristic of LiF activated by Mg, Cu and Ag were investigated for the first time. It was observed that with the thermal annealing at 240°C for 10 min the sensitivity of the novel LiF:Mg,Cu,Ag powder was more than that of the TLD-100 powder. Also, the thermoluminescence intensity decreased with the increase of annealing temperature from 240 to 300°C.
