Breast cancer (BC) is the leading cause of cancer-related mortality among women globally, affecting approximately one-quarter of all female cancer patients and accounting for one-sixth of cancer-related deaths in women. Despite significant advancements in diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, breast cancer treatment remains challenging due to issues such as recurrence and metastasis. Objective: To investigate whether hydrogen sulfide (HS) protects against intestinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats by regulating c-Jun N-terminal kinase/activator protein-1 (JNK/AP-1) signaling pathway.

Methods: Thirty male Wistar rats were divided into sham operated group (Sham group), I/R group, and HS donor sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS) intervention group (I/R+NaHS group), with 10 rats in each group. The I/R injury model was established by blocking the superior mesenteric artery with a non-traumatic vascular clip, with 60 minutes of ischemia followed by 120 minutes of reperfusion.

Metabolic reprogramming is a prominent characteristic of tumor cells, evidenced by heightened secretion of lactate, which is linked to tumor progression. Furthermore, the accumulation of lactate in the tumor microenvironment (TME) influences immune cell activity, including the activity of macrophages, dendritic cells and T cells, fostering an immunosuppressive milieu. Anti‑programmed cell death protein 1 (PD‑1)/programmed death‑ligand 1 (PD‑L1) therapy is associated with a prolonged survival time of patients with non‑small cell lung cancer.
