Description of a traumatic dissection of the descending thoracic aorta, occurring in a female patient with Marfan's syndrome, the chronic course of which over more than three years was complicated by retrograde extension to the ascending thoracic aorta, resulting in death by massive aortic insufficiency and pleuro-pericardial effusion.
