By continuously varying certain geometric parameters γ of the totally desymmetrized quantum Sinai billiard, we study the formation of the so-called soliton-like structures in the spectra of the resulting family of systems. We present a detailed characterization of the eigenstate ψ morphologies along such structures. Usually, scarring and bouncing ball mode states are expected to fully explain the solitons.

Objective: The objectives of the European Union (EU) policy agenda are to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions and to decrease the dependence of EU member countries from fossil fuel sources. In order to achieve these policy objectives, in the last decades the number of biomass power plants has increased throughout the EU. This study analyzed the environmental impacts of the bioenergy systems at global and local level to support communication and information strategies to increase social acceptance and to reduce conflicts between stakeholders.

We report a fast time-domain model of fluid-coupled cMUTs developed to predict the transient response-i.e., the impulse pressure response--of an element of a linear 1-D array.

A model is developed for studying the acoustic behavior of a cMUT array. This model is based on separate calculations of the terms describing the behavior of a single cMUT on one hand, and those corresponding to acoustic mutual coupling on the other hand. The terms are combined into an equivalent circuit with matrix terms which displays only one degree of freedom per cell.
