A randomized controlled trial on the oncologic outcomes of use of the intrauterine manipulator in the treatment of apparent uterine-confined endometrial carcinoma: the MANEC Trial.

Background: The intrauterine manipulator used during a hysterectomy for endometrial cancer has been suggested as a reason for worsening oncologic outcomes. However, only a few non-randomized retrospective studies have investigated this association.

Primary Objectives: To compare 4-year recurrence-free survival in the group of patients who undergo hysterectomy using an intrauterine manipulator with that of those who undergo hysterectomy without it.

BRCA Mutation Patients: Are There Other Predisposing Factors for Ovarian Cancer Occurrence? A Multicenter Retrospective Study.

Objectives: The objective of this multicenter retrospective study aimed to evaluate the association of clinical variables and the incidence of ovarian cancer in patients with BRCA 1-2 mutation carriers who underwent risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO).

Design: Patients with a pathogenic mutation of BRCA 1-2 genes and with no evidence of disease are considered eligible. The exclusion criterion was the refusal to undergo the surgery.

Can the Modified Frailty Index (mFI) Predict Intraoperative and Postoperative Complications in Older Women with Endometrial Cancer Undergoing Laparoscopic or Robotic Surgery? A Multicenter Observational Study.

Background: This study aims to evaluate the strength of the association between frailty and intraoperative/postoperative complications in patients undergoing minimally invasive surgery (MIS) for endometrial cancer.

Methods: In this retrospective observational multicenter cohort study, frailty was defined beforehand by a modified frailty index (mFI) score of ≥3. Multiple logistic regressions were performed to investigate possible preoperative predictors-including frailty, age, and body mass index-of intraoperative and early (within 30 days from surgery) or delayed (beyond 30 days from surgery) postoperative complications.

Patterns of recurrence in FIGO stage IB1-IB2 cervical cancer: Comparison between minimally invasive and abdominal radical hysterectomy.

Objective: Aim of our study was to evaluate whether the different laparotomic (ARH) or minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) approaches (MIS) in FIGO stage IB1-IB2 cervical cancer, present different patterns of recurrence of the disease. The secondary endpoint of the study was the evaluation of the variables most involved with the risk of relapse and therefore lower DFS and OS.

Material And Methods: The study enrolled patients with definitive histological diagnosis of squamous or adenocarcinoma stage IB1-IB2 cervical cancer who underwent minimally invasive or abdominal radical hysterectomy from 2001 to 2018.

Approximately 20%-25% of high-grade serous carcinoma cases are caused by germline mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes.
