Multiplex proteomics using isobaric labeling tags has emerged as a powerful tool for the simultaneous relative quantification of peptides and proteins across multiple experimental conditions. However, the quantitative accuracy of the approach is largely compromised by ion interference, a phenomenon that causes fold changes to appear compressed. The degree of compression is generally unknown, and the contributing factors are poorly understood.

Still, health care research on children appears to be characterized by an exclusionary approach that stems from a conception of disability and sickness as equivalent to a lack of agency. This article responds to the call to include children's perspectives.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFCross-linking mass spectrometry has matured to a frequently used tool for the investigation of protein structures as well as interactome studies up to a system-wide level. The growing community generated a broad spectrum of applications, linker types, acquisition strategies and specialized data analysis tools, which makes it challenging to decide for an appropriate analysis workflow. Here, we report a large and flexible synthetic peptide library as reliable instrument to benchmark crosslink workflows.

The aim of this review is to summarize and update current research concerning the safety of drug-coated balloons (DCBs) and drug-eluting stents (DESs) with paclitaxel (PTX) in peripheral arteries. The data from the large randomized controlled trials showed evidence of the superiority of DCBs over plain balloon angioplasty concerning efficacy. Also, the safety parameters between the two groups did not differ.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA visible-light-mediated process for dehydrogenation of amines has been described. The given protocol showed a broad substrate scope, mild reaction conditions and excellent results without the requirement of tedious purification. This process can be applied in one-pot functionalization of secondary amines with various nucleophiles through the cooperation of visible-light and Lewis acid catalysis, leading to the structurally varied essential components of biologically active molecules.
