[Assessment of management practices for women with early-stage breast cancer].

Objective: To improve management of patients with breast cancer by providing healthcare professionals with a discussion tool based on an assessment of their local practices compared with national guidelines.

Method: Retrospective survey assessing the medical files of all patients who had surgery for ductal carcinoma of the breast (maximum diameter<2 cm) in any Strasbourg hospital during the second quarter of 2002. Cases were identified from the central medical database (PMSI).

Neonatal primary hyperparathyroidism: total parathyroidectomy with autotransplantation of cryopreserved parathyroid tissue.

Primary neonatal hyperparathyroidism is a life threatening disease because of severe hypercalcemia. The best therapy is early total parathyroidectomy which requires permanent replacement therapy. We describe the first case treated by total parathyroidectomy and late autotransplantation of cryopreserved parathyroid tissue.
