Desoxypeganine hydrochloride isolated from Peganum harmala L. caused in animals a pronounced depression of cholinesterase activity. By anticholinesterase activity desoxypeganine was ten times superior peganine hydrochloride and 2 times galanthamine hydrochloride.

It is shown that 4 mM lappaconitine causes a reversible blocking action on the calcium channels. Concentration exceeding 4 mM causes irreversible changes.
