[Pharmacological characteristics of desoxypeganine hydrochloride].

Desoxypeganine hydrochloride isolated from Peganum harmala L. caused in animals a pronounced depression of cholinesterase activity. By anticholinesterase activity desoxypeganine was ten times superior peganine hydrochloride and 2 times galanthamine hydrochloride.

[Effect of the alkaloid lappaconitine on ion currents through the somatic membrane of Helix pomatia neurons].

The effect of alkoloid lappaconitine on ionic currents through the somatic membrane of identified neurons of the mollusc Helix pomatia was studied under voltage-clamp conditions. It is shown that 4 mM lappaconitine causes a reversible blocking action on the calcium channels. Concentration exceeding 4 mM causes irreversible changes.

[Pharmacological properties of the alkaloid thalicmine].

In the course of tests conducted on anesthetized cats and dogs it was ascertained that starting with a dose of 0.5 mg/kg alkaloid talicmin depresses the tussal reflex and produces a hypotensive, spasmolytic and adrenolytic action.
