A chondroblastoma is a benign tumour of cartilaginous origin which represents less than 1% of all primary osseous tumours. It is typically localised in the epiphysis of the long bones. Some 10% of chondroblastomas affect the bones of the foot and the hand.

Pyomyositis is a sub-acute bacterial infection that affects the striated muscle and is usually accompanied by the formation of an abscess in this muscle. It was initially described as an endemic disease in the tropics and only in recent years has an increase been observed in the number of cases in countries with a temperate climate in relation to an increase of immuno-depressed patients. The causal germ is Staphylococcus aureus in more than 75% of cases.

Cardiovascular diseases start during infancy, although the clinical manifestations show themselves during adulthood. Since the year 1987 a (PECNA) study has been underway in Navarra to analyse the epidemiology of the cardiovascular risk factors of the infant-juvenile population. This paper presents the evolution of the lipidic profile from 4 to 23 years of age, the tendency from 1987 to 1993, the evolution of the prevalence of hypercholesterolaemia seric cholesterol >200 mg/dl and the tracking from infancy to adult age.

The aim of this study was to ascertain the incidence of Type 1 diabetes mellitus in Navarre, an autonomous community in northern Spain. Subjects were patients who presented with diabetes between 1975 and 1991, age range 0-16 years, resident in Navarre at the onset of symptoms. Endocrinologists in outpatient centres and hospitals (both public and private) in Navarre were the primary source of data, while secondary sources were: independent general practitioners, health centre paediatricians and the Child-Youth Diabetics Parents' Association of Navarre.
