This study investigates the interplay between plastic and reconstructive surgery patients and their respective caregivers in the Day Surgery Unit of Policlinico Umberto I, Rome, Italy. Utilizing a dual survey approach, we explored the role in patient safety and the challenges faced by caregivers during the perioperative period. This study, conducted at Policlinico Umberto I, covers all surgical procedures from October to December 2023, encompassing skin cancer removal, fat grafting, scar revisions, hand surgeries, and eyelid surgeries.

It is increasingly common for patients to use the internet to gather information about plastic surgery, and AI-based chatbots, such as ChatGPT, could be employed to answer patients' questions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of medical information provided by ChatGPT regarding three of the most common procedures in breast plastic surgery: breast reconstruction, breast reduction, and augmentation mammaplasty.

This study was aimed at examining different approaches (cytology, pathology and genetic analysis) to WSN diagnosis.
Methods: A series of four patients with asymptomatic white diffuse oral lesions were evaluated and, before performing an incisional biopsy for pathology, an oral brush Thin Prep was collected for exfoliative liquid-based cytology (LBC).

Objective: The aim of this study is to demonstrate that for patients undergoing mastectomy the use of the proprioceptive memory represents a valid method to identify the perfect position of the nipple, which will be reconstructed on an operated breast.
Patients And Methods: Fifty-one patients undergoing breast reconstruction after unilateral Modified Radical Mastectomy or unilateral Skin Sparing Mastectomy were included in the study. All patients were asked to identify, while keeping their eyes closed, the mammary segment where they perceived their nipples, both on the reconstructed breast mound and on the contralateral breast.

Objective: The issue of prevention of thromboembolism in plastic surgery is a rather controversial subject. The actual frequency of VTE among plastic surgery patients is probably higher than we know. Although several studies have shown that chemoprophylaxis likely increases rates of re-operative hematoma by less than one percent, surgeons are strongly resistant to adopting chemoprophylaxis due to the fear of increased bleeding and its complications.
