Introduction: Skeletal and functional status can be affected after stroke, mainly due to subjects' immobilisation. The aim of our study was to assess the functional and bone status in post-stroke patients with hemiplegia. Both Alzheimer's disease and osteoporosis occur mainly in persons aged over 60. Both diseases are often seen to co-occur in clinical practice, yet very few investigators have addressed this problem. They have demonstrated that several different clinical factors can lead to a higher incidence of osteoporosis in persons with Alzheimer's disease.

The mode of treatment used in 6 cases of combined supracondylar fracture of the humerus and ipsilateral forearm fracture is presented. Results were rated good, fair and poor according to both functional and radiological assessments. Three cases were good and 3 fair.
