Reservoirs play a crucial role as sources of methane (CH₄) emissions, with emission rates and quantities varying widely depending on reservoir size due to factors such as surface area, water depth, usage, operational methods, and spatial distribution. Gaining insights into emission characteristics across different reservoir sizes can aid in designing and managing reservoirs to mitigate CH₄ emissions effectively. In this study, machine learning models were applied to estimate both diffusive and ebullitive CH₄ emissions across 97,435 reservoirs in China, spanning five categories of storage capacity.

Compared to most tumors that are more glycolytic, primary prostate cancer is less glycolytic but more dependent on TCA cycle coupled with OXPHOS for its energy demand. This unique metabolic energetic feature is attributed to activation of mitochondrial m-aconitase in TCA caused by decreased cellular Zn level. Evidence suggests that a small subpopulation of cancer cells within prostate tumors, designated as prostate cancer stem cells (PCSCs), play significant roles in advanced prostate cancer progression.

Next-generation live biotherapeutics are promising to aid the treatment of obesity and metabolic diseases. Here, we reported a novel anti-obesity probiotic candidate, , that was depleted in stool samples of obese subjects compared with lean controls, and its abundance was negatively correlated with body mass index and serum triglycerides. Supplementation of prevented body weight gain and disorders of glucose and lipid metabolism, prevented fatty liver, inhibited white adipose tissue expansion and brown adipose tissue whitening in mice fed with high-fat diet, and boosted the abundance of lean-related species.
