Zethus Fabricius is the largest genus within Vespidae with nearly 300 species. The genus has a central role on discussion of social evolution, once some species share behavioral features between solitary and social representatives of vespids and the genus has been recovered as phylogenetically closer to social wasps than to other Eumeninae. The Zethus olmecus species group is even more remarkable since there are observations of communal nesting behavior, a fact misused as support for the hypothesis of closer relationship to social wasps.

Background: Ovarian cancer is a challenging disease to diagnose and treat effectively with five-year survival rates below 50%. Previous patient experience research in high-income countries highlighted common challenges and opportunities to improve survival and quality of life for women affected by ovarian cancer. However, no comparable data exist for low-and middle-income countries, where 70% of women with the disease live.

The strategies used by females to ensure the survival of their offspring are one of the key elements in insect reproductive biology. Ectoparasitoid hymenopterans, such as tiphiid wasps, use their ovipositor to deliver a single egg on the host body, where the larva develops. Here we describe the colleterial glands in females of two species of Myzinum and discuss the homology with other glands among Hymenoptera.

After more than half a century: Dielis diabo (Hymenoptera: Scoliidae: Scoliinae), a new scoliid from the Neotropics.

A new species of Scoliidae, Dielis diabo n. sp., is described from material previously collected and misidentified as Dielis dorsata Fabricius, 1787 after almost 60 years since the last description of a neotropical scoliid.
