Article Synopsis
  • - The study aimed to predict stages of liver fibrosis and necroinflammation using various ultrasound measurements, specifically 2D shear wave elastography (2D-SWE), transient elastography (Fibroscan), and shear wave dispersion (SWD).
  • - Significant findings showed that 2D-SWE and TE effectively detected different stages of hepatic fibrosis, with specific cutoff values leading to reliable categorizations, while SWD was useful for identifying levels of necroinflammation.
  • - The conclusion emphasizes that both 2D-SWE and TE provide a noninvasive means to assess liver damage stages, with SWD being beneficial for detecting inflammation in the liver.

Background: In this study, we aimed to evaluate ultrasonographical and cytological features of thyroid nodules in patients who were treated with radioactive iodine (RAI) for hyperthyroidism years ago.

Methods: Patients who had a history of RAI treatment for hyperthyroidism and had thyroid nodules that were evaluated with fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) were included in the study.

Results: There were 27 patients (22 female and 5 male) with a mean age of 59.
