Isothiazolinones, a family of biocides, are used as preservatives for their fungicidal, bactericidal, and algacidal properties. These compounds can be found in a wide range of consumer and building products, such as paints, varnishes, shampoos, and liquid detergents. A robust analytical UPLC-MS/MS method to identify and quantify seven isothiazolinones (MIT, CMI, BIT, MBIT, BBIT, OIT, and DCOIT) in consumer products and their emissions was developed and validated according to ISO/IEC 17025.

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and particles emitted by incense sticks and candles combustion in an experimental room have been monitored on-line and continuously with a high time resolution using a state-of-the-art high sensitivity-proton transfer reaction-mass spectrometer (HS-PTR-MS) and a condensation particle counter (CPC), respectively. The VOC concentration-time profiles, i.e.

Six European laboratories used the emission test chamber method (EN ISO 16000-9) for the determination of VOC and formaldehyde emissions from a wood based panel (particleboard). The tested panel was conditioned without wrapping over 28 d at 23 degrees C and 50% RH before shipping to each participating laboratory. Emission chamber testing was carried out with air sampling after 3 and 28 d.

A global methodology for the evaluation of the environmental and health-related characteristics of building products is presented. This methodology is based on environmental product declaration according to the NF P 01-010 standard for the environmental part and on specific tests for the characterization of the potential health-related impact of building products (emissions of volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde in indoor air, odour emissions, aptitude for growth of micro-organisms: moulds and bacteria, natural radioactive emissions). This methodology can be used either by: *Manufacturers for the communication on the environmental and health-related properties of their building products, *End users, consumers, retailers, building owners and architects wishing to introduce environmental and health-related criteria in their selection procedure of building products, e.

The effect of clonazepam, taken per-os and in very progressive doses, has been studied by the authors on fourteen children afflicted with evolutive epileptic encephalopathies and still presenting, in spite of heavy anti-epileptic polychemio-therapies, alarming clinical and electrical manifestations. Clonazepam proved to be an efficient contributive factor in the course of a curing process since, in 70% of the cases, it produced quite a visible amelioration. Its efficient action seems to last longer than that of other diazepines since half of their patients have now been treated with it for more than a year with, as a result, a constant clinical and electrical amelioration.
