Abdominal pain in covid times: time to think twice.

We report a case of abdominal pain followed by acute systolic heart failure due to multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C). This multisystem disease typically appears several weeks after infection with COVID-19 in children and young adults. There is a wide spectrum of presentation with MIS-C: some present with features of shock, others with a condition that has overlapping characteristics with Kawasaki disease (KD), and others with more non-specific features.

Determination of monochloramine dissipation kinetics in various surface water qualities under relevant environmental conditions - Consequences regarding environmental risk assessment.

A total 190 experiments were performed to study the dissipation kinetics of monochloramine (NHCl, CAS no 10599-90-3) in surface water samples from six rivers (Loire, Rhône, Meuse, Garonne, Seine and Moselle) and an artificial reservoir (Mirgenbach), all located in France. Experiments were conducted in an open reactor, under relevant controlled environmental conditions. The impact of various parameters such as initial NHCl concentration, temperature, pH, presence of sediments, sampling site and collection period was investigated.

Anorectal metastasis from breast carcinoma: a case report and review of the literature.

Background: Gastrointestinal metastasis from primary breast carcinoma is uncommon, anorectal involvement is extremely rare.

Case Presentation: We present the case of a 65-year old woman who underwent treatment for an infiltrative lobular carcinoma of the left breast with bone metastases and who developed metastasis of the rectum and anal canal 4 years later.

Conclusions: A patient with a history of breast cancer, especially lobular carcinoma, presenting with anorectal symptoms, should raise the suspicion of metastatic disease.

Abrikossoff cell tumor of the oesophagus: a case report and review of the literature.

Abrikossoff tumours or granular cell tumours are rare and usually benign tumours. The oesophagus is a rare location (0.001% of all tumours).

Toxicity of dimethoate and fenoxycarb to honey bee brood (Apis mellifera), using a new in vitro standardized feeding method.

A new in vitro method was devised to assess the effects of pesticides on honey bee brood. The method allowed the quantification of doses ingested by larvae and the assessment of larval and pupal mortality. Larval mortality in control samples was lower than 10%.
