Article Synopsis
  • - The study analyzed postoperative radiotherapy (PORT) delivery in head and neck cancer patients who underwent free flap reconstruction to assess delays and their impact on treatment outcomes.
  • - Out of 87 patients, 32 received PORT within six weeks of surgery, with delays categorized as surgery-derived, system-derived, or patient-derived; only a small percentage experienced delays due to surgical complications.
  • - The findings suggest that complications from the free flap surgeries do not significantly hinder the timely delivery of PORT in these patients.
