A double aneurism, located in the abdominal aorta and left common iliac was found complicating a salmonella typhimurium infection which had been present for 7 months. A by-pass operation between the inaffected iliac arteries was followed by resection of the two aneurisms. Cultures taken from the walls of the aneurisms showed the presence of salmonella typhimurium.

The susceptibility to antimicrobial agents of 321 strains of Aeromonas hydrophila was studied: 319 strains were found to be resistant to one or several antibiotics. Transfer of resistance markers was obtained from 24 strains. Five plasmids from these strains were classified into incompatibility group incC.

A systematic investigation of antibiotic sensibility has been carried out on 1,000 strains of enterobacteria and Aeromonas isolated from drinking water. 81,6% are resistant to one or more antibiotics. The incidence of this resistance and its epidemiological consequences are discussed.
