Background: The main goal of kidney allograft transplantation is to improve survival in patients with end-stage kidney failure. Herein, we report a 49-year long-term allograft survival with non-identical human leukocyte antigens (HLA). The purpose of this study was to report the successful clinical outcome of 49 years of transplant survival in a 79-year-old patient with a 107-year-old kidney undergoing continued immunosuppressive monotherapy.

Its purpose is to improve the training delivered to nutritionists working with adult patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Eleven questions were developed concerning patient screening, care, and nutrition outcome management.

We found this study relevant because unusual biomarkers seem to be a promising tool to evaluate chronic renal disease and post-transplant monitoring.
Methods: Ninety-one renal transplant recipients (RTx) were allocated into groups according to creatinine plasma levels (C1 < 1.
Background: In kidney transplantation, long-term graft survival has improved over the last few decades. Study to understand ultralong-term graft survival with graft functioning is rare, but a few researchers have tried to explain the factors involved in long-term graft survival. In this report, we explore the predictive factors that can be involved in ultralong-term graft survival.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLeprosy is still a public health concern in Brazil, where more than 30,000 new cases are detected every year. There are few reports of this mycobacteriosis in immunosuppressed patients, despite the increasing number of solid organ transplantation and the use of post-transplant drugs in this country. The authors describe a case of multibacillary leprosy in a renal transplant recipient, detected 12 years after the procedure, and discuss the therapy, adverse effects and management of leprosy reactions in patients immunosuppressed by drugs.
