Software-assisted structured reporting and semi-automated TNM classification for NSCLC staging in a multicenter proof of concept study.

Objectives: In this multi-center study, we proposed a structured reporting (SR) framework for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and developed a software-assisted tool to automatically translate image-based findings and annotations into TNM classifications. The aim of this study was to validate the software-assisted SR tool for NSCLC, assess its potential clinical impact in a proof-of-concept study, and evaluate current reporting standards in participating institutions.

Methods: A framework for SR and staging of NSCLC was developed in a multi-center collaboration.

Allogeneic CD4 T Cells Sustain Effective BK Polyomavirus-Specific CD8 T Cell Response in Kidney Transplant Recipients.

Introduction: BK polyomavirus-associated nephropathy (BKPyVAN) is a significant complication in kidney transplant recipients (KTRs), associated with a higher level of plasmatic BK polyomavirus (BKPyV) replication and leading to poor graft survival.

Methods: We prospectively followed-up with 100 KTRs with various degrees of BKPyV reactivation (no BKPyV reactivation, BKPyV-DNAuria, BKPyV-DNAemia, and biopsy-proven BKPyVAN [bp-BKPyVAN], 25 patients per group) and evaluated BKPyV-specific T cell functionality and phenotype.

Results: We demonstrate that bp-BKPyVAN is associated with a loss of BKPyV-specific T cell proliferation, cytokine secretion, and cytotoxic capacities.

mTOR Inhibition Impairs the Activation and Function of Belatacept-Resistant CD4CD57 T Cells In Vivo and In Vitro.

Calcineurin inhibitors have improved graft survival in solid-organ transplantation but their use is limited by toxicity, requiring a switch to another immunosuppressor in some cases. Belatacept is one option that has been shown to improve graft and patient survival despite being associated with a higher risk of acute cellular rejection. This risk of acute cellular rejection is correlated with the presence of belatacept-resistant T cells.

Impact of DSA and immunosuppression minimization on rejection, graft, and patient survival after simultaneous liver-kidney transplantation.

Background: Acute rejection rate is low after simultaneous liver-kidney transplantation (SLKT), leading some groups to minimize immunosuppressive (IS) regimens. However, the impact of preformed (pDSA) or donor-specific antibodies (dnDSA) on the graft remains unclear.
