In this study, a new deterministic mathematical model based on fractional-order derivative operator that describes the pseudo-recovery dynamics of an epidemiological process is developed. Fractional-order derivative of Caputo type is used to examine the effect of memory in the spread process of infectious diseases with pseudo-recovery. The well-posedness of the model is qualitatively investigated through Banach fixed point theory technique.

The aim of the present study was to estimate the volume CT dose index (CTDIvol), dose length product (DLP) and effective dose (ED) to patients from five multi-detector computed tomography angiography (MDCTA) procedures: brain, carotid, coronary, entire aorta and lower limb from four medical institutions in Tanzania; to compare these doses to those reported in the literature, and to compare the data obtained with ICRP 103 and Monte Carlo software. The radiation doses for 217 patients were estimated using patient demographics, patient-related exposure parameters, the geometry of examination and CT-Expo V 2.4 Monte Carlo-based software.

Mycoplasma mycoides subspecies mycoides (Mmm) adhesion is tissue and host specific. Inhibition of adhesion will prevent Mmm from binding to lung cells and hence prevent colonization and disease. The aim of this study was to develop a panel of Mmm monoclonal antibodies against Mmm and use these antibodies to investigate their inhibitory effect on the adherence of Mmm to bovine lung epithelial cells (BoLEC), and to further identify an antigen to any of the inhibitory antibodies.
