Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to compare two methods for reconstructing post-extraction bone defects: using a non-resorbable d-PTFE membrane left exposed versus guided bone regeneration (GBR) performed later, over a period of four weeks and two months, respectively.
  • Conducted as a multicenter randomized controlled trial in Italy with 18 enrolled patients, the study found no instances of implant failure or complications, and all patients reported satisfaction with their implants.
  • While histological analyses showed well-mineralized bone in both groups, the regenerated bone appeared more mature in the GBR group, though overall there were no significant differences in tissue volume between the two methods.

The discovery of the vaccination technique was revealed by Edward Jenner in 1796, which represented the first scientific attempt to control an infectious disease by vaccines, followed by other important studies carried out by Pasteur and Koch, and Sabin, who developed the first technique to attenuate the virus. In recent decades, numerous scholars have begun to create dangerous theories against the effectiveness of vaccines through scientifically invalid or fraudulent studies. This critical review of the literature aims to analyze the main factors that have undermined the credibility of vaccines in the general population, disproved false information and emphasized the benefits of vaccines over the last 200 years.

To evaluate the implant and prosthetic of two implants with different surfaces and neck design. Enrolled patients received bone level, 12° conical connection implants (Nobel Parallel, Nobel Biocare; NOBEL group) with anodized surface (TiUnite) and roughness of 1.35 μm, or transmucosal implant system (Prama, Sweden and Martina; PRAMA group) with convergent collar, ZIrTi surface, and roughness 1.
